Mrs. T., I was wondering when someone was going to bring that video up. I wouldn't kick him out of my bed for it, I'd just hand him a tissue.
Sorry about Mr. Curry. That sucks. I'd always been a huge fan of his. I have been very lucky in my encounters so far. *crosses fingers* As i've mentioned before, I was just mad for Paul Stanley (KISS) back in the day. I knew a guy who was in the music business (what a loser he turned out to be!) so I got to meet Paul on a number of occasions. I don't think I ever said more than two words to him. I was just too scared and awe struck. He was nice enough alright but I felt like such a geek. Imagine being backstage at a rock concert (if you haven't already). Yes, some bands had drugs and alcohol but they all had beautiful women with them. Sure some were strippers or porn actresses or dirty mag. models and most had fake everything and I would not want to be any of that but...when you've spent all day getting ready: nails (hands and feet), hair, facial, make up, wax (why? I mean, as if, right?) new outfit, and you are suddenly surrounded by huge breasted Amazons wearing either Fredricks of Hollywood or Prada looking like they've never had a zit in their life, you feel so invisible. But as I said, I have been incredibly lucky. Most people have been extremely nice...even Gene Simmons acted like an almost perfect gentleman...Ted Nugent did not! _________________

I've met three celebrities so far (though none of them was as famous as Alan) - fortunately, all three of them were great and made me like the person even more.
I was very lucky in one particular situation: I was at an open-air concert of an Irish Folk band, and I had a crush on the lead singer. After the concert I was queuing for a CD. A young woman stood next to me and overheard an argument between me and my boyfriend. I was still a student, and like every student, I was broke. My bf was chiding me for spending all the money I had left on a CD. The young woman suddenly turned around to me and asked in English if I wanted to come backstage and get my CD signed. Turned out that she was the singer's girlfriend. She's Scottish, but has spent many years in Germany and understands the language. I couldn't say a lot to the singer when he walked up to me, thanked me for coming to the concert (!) and signed my CD, I just thanked him and told him how much I had enjoyed the concert, but at least I didn't faint, and that's a huge success!
Getting that close to Alan, say hi and not faint, that would be fantastic! _________________

The only person I've met, besides the Michael Crawford thing, was Chef Emeril Lagasse, which was fun, he was very nice. We were in New Orleans a few years ago, and had reservations at Emeril's (his main restaurant--for 10:30 PM, the best we could do, even tho we made them months in advance!) When we got there, we could see that he was there, he kept going in and out of the kitchen and at one point went to a table with some kids and talked to them for a minute. I had bought one of his cookbooks, so I asked our waiter if he could get it signed for me. He took it, and a few minutes later, he came back and asked if I'd like to go back to the kitchen to meet the Chef (DUH!) so I went back, met him, took a couple of pics, and he signed my book! It was pretty cool, and I got a cool glimpse of a famous kitchen (total chaos to me!) He was very nice, even though I know he was busy. My pictures weren't great, in one, I look terrified, and the other is blurry! Oh well, it was still cool! _________________ ~~~Nora~~~

BAM! You're lucky, Nora. I LOVE Emeril!! Everyone joked that he was my "pregnancy buddy" because when I was pregnant for my first son, the Food Network ran his programs all night. Since I couldn't sleep, I had a choice of news, infomercials, or Emeril. I talked about him like he was a personal friend, we spent so much time "together", LOL!! "Hey, Mom, you'll never guess what Emeril was up to last night!"
Of the celebrities I've met through my writing, most are just as normal as anyone else. Someone mildly famous that I am acquaintances with actually regrets his fame because he now has no personal life and he's stalked by fangirls who have no regard for him or his family. One girl actually phoned his ELDERLY MOTHER, saying UPS had accidently left a package for her at her house. His mom gave her directions to the house and told her to bring it on over, and she turned out to be one of his MAJOR stalkers. I understand that part of celebrity is dealing with fans, but when it extends out to situations like that, it's just uncalled for.
Of course, my dream is to interview Alan. I'd love that! _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

| That sounds really scary. I know we joke about being stalkers, but I don't think anyone here is capable of such a thing, or wanting to make anyone's lives hell, let alone Alan. Some people just let their admiration turn into obsession and it makes them quite dangerous and I'm sure it must be upsetting for all involved. We can see it with the case of Uma Thurman and her stalker which has been in the news recently. It doesn't just affect the celebrities, it affects their friends and families too. It baffles me how someone could do a trick like that UPS thing. |

The incident happened shortly after his television show came out, and no one really thought at that point anyone would have the wherewithal to seek out his family. He had gotten several emails and letters from the girl, but he was just becoming acclimated to being recognized and I guess never thought he'd have stalkers chasing him down. Since then his poor mom has moved and now has unlisted numbers. ROTTEN! The really sick part is that unlisted numbers don't stop some people. I can't imagine the mental state that must go along with that kind of behaviour. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

I think this kind of behaviour has got nothing to do with liking a famour person. This is only selfish. There is no respect for the person you claim to admire.
I personally would freeze and never be able to say anything sensible anyway. So maybe I am only jealous that I have not got guts like that. But at least I will not be told to bugger off. _________________ Alan Rickman('s) Acting touches nerves you have absolutely no control over. |

You know you're a diva when you get Alan Rickman related injuries.
I had a couple of the girls over last night and I poped in Sense and Sensibility since I bought it the other day.
I was in the kitchen and my friend Latifa yelled to me "He's on!"
I ran towards the living room, and my living room is up about three steps from the dining area, and I tripped up the stairs and bashed my knee into the edge of the step leaving a bruise and a gash today lol.
Embarrassing. But I have to admit I had a few beers in me. So I didn't feel the injury at the time. This goes without saying that no such thing as sense and sensibility ever came from having a few too many drinks
So when I went to work today and limping I just said I tripped on a crack in the sidewalk where they were doing construction outside my building. I would have been too embarrassed to tell the actual story LOL _________________ "Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point." Metatron~Dogma |

You know you're a diva when...
I went to a medieval fair with some friends last night. You get free entry when you are dressed in medieval style, so all of us dressed up a bit.
Except for my boyfriend, who was too lazy to dress up and prefered to pay the entry fee.
When I arrived in my medieval dress, my boyfriend sighed dramatically: "Oh, my lady Marian!" Without thinking, I sighed, "Oh, George!"
Our friends looked a bit puzzled, "Huh? Who's George?", and my boyfriend was a bit grumpy ("No, it didn't happen that way!").
For the next fair, I have to buy him a wig and something black to wear... _________________
