OK, in the interest of getting to know you, and where you're from and all that, plus I'm depressed because our weather SUCKS today!!!
What's the weather like where you are?
So, tell us where you are and what it's like there, I thought this could be an ongoing thread, just to let us keep up with each other and sorta what it's like in our daily lives...

So...here in South/Central Illinois (or whatever they call it here, I've heard both) it's 14 degrees! Shocked (Farenheidt) very clear and sunny, slight wind, but stinking cold! I had to pump my own gas Mad (which always puts me in a bad mood to start with) and by the time I was finished, my face was hurting, it was so cold!
We usually have a couple of weeks of this every winter, the single digits, sometimes below 0, then it goes back up to 30 or so, but it stinks while its here!
At least there's no snow to drive thru!

So, what about everyone else?
Nora (who now has a big pot of chili simmering on the stove! wonder if Alan likes chili? Laughing )

Well, you picked a good topic for us brits!
Here in Norfolk its not too bad at the moment 6C cloudy but dry.
Other parts of britain are suffering flooding yet again, particularly along the river severn and in parts of the cities of York and Leeds. Scotland has snow, normal for this time of year.

OK, so I used a converter, and 6 C seems to be about 42 F, I can't figure all that in my head, I just know that 0 C is 32 F, which is freezing!

It's supposed to get up around 45 or so Sunday, which is good, we're going to the Auto Show in St. Louis (we go every year, all the new cars are there, no Audi's this year, tho Sad I love Audi's) and I'd rather not freeze my butt off, even just going from the car to the shuttle and into the convention center!
I can handle the 40's!!

Too bad about the flooding, we have that alot in the spring. that's the only really big rain around this area, some in Oct/Nov, but we get incredible thunderstorms and tornadoes (which I kinda find exciting!)every spring.
Hope it's not too severe, no loss of life, losing homes is bad enough.

How lucky you are, Nora. My aunt, uncle and cousins live in St. Louis and I miss them very much.

Well, here in Indiana, it is much like Illinois. Roughly about 10 degrees and it feels as though its negative 10(fahrenheit). It's awful. There's a light layer of snow that is drifting due to the freezing winds.

The only thing keepin me happy at the moment is researching AR movies, like Bottle Shock.

It's -15C here at present (5F). January here tends to fluctuate between
-5C to -25C.

Well, I'm in London, England, and today it is a little cold, but clear and bright. It's nice to wake up to the sun shining through my window.

Well, the weather here in Sweden has been really nice today, but windy.
It was snowing a bit when I woke up, but later the sun came out, and it´s been like +2 or +3C.
It was really nice to get a chance to see the sun for once, it has been such a wet and miserable winter, it just keeps raining and raining and raining.... When I was little there was always snow here during the winters, but I guess that time is gone...

Believe it or not, it snowed twice here in Atlanta last week. And it stuck! I think we got about 2 or 3 inches. That may not sound like a lot to you northern folk, but down here in the south that's a blizzard.

Right now it's about 36 F (2 C), so it's still pretty cold for us. Apparently it's supposed to get down into the 20s tonight. I wish it had been this cold around Christmas. I'm totally fine with freezing cold and snow and ice in December and January, but when February/March hits, it better be back up in the 60s.

It was up to like 40 today, but I worked all night and slept most of the day, so who cares.
We really only get snow like once or twice a year anymore, but we get stupid freezing rain or sleet which is much worse, you can't drive on that, even in a 4 wheel drive. I love snow when I don't have to go anywhere, just stay home with a fire and a good book ( and plenty of snacks!)
