Okay, so British weather is freakish. Two days ago I was walking around without a jacket, but today we have snow. Seriously, I could probably make a snow man with the amount that has settled outside. This is ridiculous!!

I am not so sure this is ridiculous... Are there no records of snow so early in April? If not this might be global warming after all.

Nah...it's not unusual...that's the problem!!

I know we Brits have a reputation for talking about the weather a lot!!
The reason is, we have SO MUCH of it, in a short period of time. In one day we can traverse all 4 seasons...in one day!!
Then the next day will be completely different. It's so difficult to plan anything here...you always have to have a back-up plan!

For example, the kids are on Easter hols now. We have planned to go out to the wildlife park nearby with my Mother-in-law next week, BUT we'll go to the aquarium if it's raining/snowing/sleeting/galeforce or just really cold....and we won't know until we look out the window first thing in the morning!

And I'm sure we've had snow in June before!

Wow... it doesn't sound too different from New York... We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather right now, just wait five minutes." We have literally driven to the nearest mall 20 miles away and have gone through sun, snow, rain, wind... all before reaching the mall! New York weather is nuts.

that's what we say here, too!
A few days ago it was in the 30's and 40's and pouring down rain (and flash flood warnings again!) now this weekend, it's sunny and 60's and 70's (yea!) but will rain again by Monday evening...hopefully the colder weather is over, tho.
We actually have our windows open right now, and I can hear a plane buzzing around, for the 2nd day, it might be a crop duster, it seems early for that...but that's a sure sign of spring in the midwest! Laughing
and we talk about the weather alot, too, as you can tell!

You see a civilized conversation about the wheather is an art. I quite like to listen to my cousin_in_law Rolling Eyes he is the second son of some by now impoverished Lord in South England who sent his sons to boarding schools at the tender age of 6. David can chat about the wheater very pleasantly and is a real charmer. For your trip to the mall he would only have said something like _Not so nice today.

I'll admit, it's a real ice breaker, and a good filler in awkward silences!!

I just wish there was SOME consistency!

my ex-boss, soon to be boss again (after next week--yea!) who is from Ireland, always says when it's raining, just a little, that's it's a nice soft day (or something like that...)
The Irish are interesting people!

Summer is finally here! Wonderful! Today was sooo hot, almost 30 degrees celsius, wich is really, really hot.
I have been outside all day working in the garden, so now a nice cold shower will feel so good.
And than some cold, white wine on the balcony.... Very Happy

It's breezy but humid here, and the temp has been fluctuating all day. And there has been some rain and clouds and sun! Wacky weather... like every day in NY!! Rolling Eyes
