Who else thinks the "Pretty Women" scene was seriously sexed up?!!
My family think I'm being sick Embarassed but just look at that!!!

Or is it really just me?? I'll go crawl back under my rock now...

I am not sure whether it was sex... at least one ot the two violated the natural distances. If people stand so close as in this photo, it is kind of intimate. It takes a certain arrogance to violate that space unless you are in a close relationship. It might simply be a way of making the scene dangerous without actual violence. I am sure you are not the only one who notices the lack of distance.

I don't remember it being sexy, but that photo certainly creates that feeling. I'd like to get in on that action. Alan AND Johnny. Yum.

LMAO!!! Girl... you and I are thinking exactly the same thing!! LOL

WHen I went to see Sweeney the first time, the friend I went to see it with, after the movie was over, said to me that she saw Judge Turpin as a perversed Col. Brandon (She's in love with Sense & Sensibility.... though she didn't know that Judge Turpin and Col. Brandon were the same person LOL)

Yeay, that might be good too... But if I could take Johnny out and maybe put Anthony Stuart Head there instead, and me in between it would be even better... But I´m sure Alan would get the job done on his own too, judging from his gold trousers... ah, happy thoughts... Twisted Evil

Hmmm change of subject.

Was just watching abit of this earlier and well, it may just be my totally biased opinion but I really can't help but feel sorry for this character-particularly in the scene when Johanna's packing to run off with Anthony and he walks in on her...He just seems so hurt by the fact that she doesn't want him!!
I always find myself thinking things like "Well, what if they don't realise how they're behaving is antisocial/wrong? What if they have Asperger's (like me) or something and will never understand..." about 'evil' characters!

Okay, rant over, that's just how I interpret things-anyone feel the same?

That is an interesting aspect, Sparrington, I know what you mean about the scene where Joannas leaving. He does look sad and hurt.
I think that is one of the things that make an "evil" character so interesting, when they don´t just behave the way they do just because they are evil, but because of some deeper motive.
And Judge Turpin really isn´t that bad is he? At least he doesn´t slit peoples throats and make pies of them! Shocked

I have to agree Marie and Sparrington. I don't really feel hate for Alan 's character. I really just feel bad for him (especially the scene where he is at the balcony with flowers). I don't really see him as evil, I just think he wanted to be loved and didn't know exaclty how to do that and he just thought that power would give him what he wanted. Now Johnny Depp's neck slashing character needs some serious therapy and a straight jacket... Shocked Laughing

LOL at Dee. I completely agree with you all on that front. But something else comes to mind... isn't it interesting that Alan chooses characters like that. I mean (off the subject) in a way I see Snape the same way. Just a thought LOL
