Since I recently got bogged down in a conversation about The West Wing in a thread that was most decidedly not about The West Wing, I decided to make this thread. Laughing

So, what shows are you guys into?

Personally, I've got a pretty long list of stuff I love. Here goes nothin: West Wing, The X-Files, Newsradio, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Young Ones, Coupling, Law & Order, M*A*S*H, Medium, Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, House, Saxondale, Wire in the Blood, Little Britain, Raines, Father Ted, My Hero, Drop the Dead Donkey, Ballykissangel (first three seasons only!), QI, The Daily Show, Colbert Report...I could go on.

Since West Wing went off the air (sorry about that Madam Laughing ), there haven't been many shows that I'll avidly sit and watch every day/week. I like CSI (any of them), I like NCIS (Hey, Dad's a retired Marine... gotta watch.. plus Mark Harmon is hot Laughing )... and the most recent is Big Love on HBO. I don't agree with the show (personally, I'd kill my husband if he wanted another woman LOL) but the show does have some good angst and isn't half bad.

Speaking of Mark Harmon, how gutted were you when they killed him off West Wing? Granted, it was just a guest star thing and I didn't think he'd last, but come on! Things were just getting good with him and CJ!

OMG!! I still cannot stand to listen to 'that Jeff Buckley song" without crying my eyes out. I remember my jaw hitting the floor when he was shot (and wondering why the h**l a Secret Service agent on duty wouldn't be wearing a bullet-proof vest?!) and bawling like a baby when CJ went through New York crying (hey.. she's a good cryer too! none of that one-tear-down-the-cheek nonsense)....

Too bad John Wells wasn't smart enough to get rid of the Ainsley Wannabe in seasons 6 and 7... though the jokes with her and CJ were really funny.

*See... told ya I could go on for hours about WW LOL*

I always hoped for something between Ainsley and Sam. Leo's daughter was so not his type.

Yeah, Mallory irritated me a bit but her first scene in the first eppy was far too funny:

Sam Seaborn: Ms. O'Brian, I understand your feelings, but please believe me when I tell you that I am a nice guy having a bad day. I just found out The Times is publishing a poll that says that a considerable portion of Americans feel that the White House has lost energy and focus. A perception that is not likely to be altered by the video footage of the President riding his bicycle into a tree. As we speak, the Coast Guard are fishing Cubans out of the Atlantic Ocean, while the governor of Florida wants to blockade the port of Miami. A good friend of mine is about to get fired for going on television and making sense. And it turns out that I accidentally slept with a prostitute last night. Now, would you please in the name of compassion tell me which one of those kids is my boss's daughter?
Mallory O'Brian: That would be me.
Sam Seaborn: ...This is bad on so many levels...

I loved The West Wing too... was very sad when John Spencer passed away and subsequently the character of Leo. I had always liked Spencer when he was on L.A. Law (eons ago to you ladies of a more youthful age than myself... Wink ) I also like CSI, CSI Miami... but have never gotten into CSI NY.

I also like a little sci-fi now and then, and enjoy Dr. Who, the Dresden Files, and Battlestar Galactica. (Yes, I thought Alan was pretty hot as Dr. Lazarus, by Grabthar's Hammer, LOL!)

And then there's my slightly bizarre passion- cooking shows. I love Dinner:Impossible w/Chef Robert Irvine, Hell's Kitchen w/ Chef Gordon Ramsay, and Good Eats w/ Chef Alton Brown!

Oh... I also forgot to mention Psych and Monk! I love Tony Shaloub! He's such a cutie!

BTW, like your new avatar, Madam! Very nice! Very Happy

Not THAT strange LOL I'm addicted to Ace of Cakes... but it's only cause I make and decorate cakes myself that I like to watch... they come up with some of the cutest ideas!

And ditto on the avatar, Madam! Very Happy

I`m really in to Heroes right now, I´ve only seen the first four episodes but I love it!
I also really like Medium, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Little Britain, Scrubs and House. And Ugly Betty and Grays Anatomy.

Ya gotta love Chef Duff! Very Happy My son and I always watch Ace of Cakes together. I also love Geoff and Mary-Alice. A favorite episode was when when Duff's little brother came to help make his dad's birthday cake- I just love how they're all just like normal people. It's a fun show to watch.

Ace of Cakes is a great show! I always want cake after watching it, though.

There's a new season of Hell's Kitchen on here in the UK with Marco Pierre White, who taught Gordon Ramsay everything he knows. And he's really quite attractive, so that's always a plus.

I love Good Eats! Plus, Alton films in a house about 5 minutes from where I live and films in the grocery store I shop at!

Have you ever watch Anthony Bourdain's show? He had one on FoodTV called A Cook's Tour, now he's on the Travel Channel with one called No Reservations. It's fantastic.

Ditto on wanting cake... I'm desperate to try Duff's green tea kind (I'm admittedly a tea addict... I drink too much of it but I must be full of antioxidants, LOL!!)

That is way too cool about Alton Brown living so near to you and filming in the grocery store! He's awesome. He really appeals to my geeky side when he talks about the science behind cooking... It makes me feel faint, LOL!!

I have also watched Anthony Bourdain's show, although not extensively. I also didn't realize that he's written so extensively... I think I'll have to try out one of his crime novels and see what I think!

LOL I've been making and decorating cakes for so long now that it has lost its appeal to me. I rarely, if ever have a slice... mostly because I have a lot of health problems and the icing from the cakes makes me sick... but even the smell of just the cake doesn't effect me.

My dad LOVES that show... we have the whole first season on DVD and it watches 3 or 4 episodes per night. I like some of what I watch. Hiro is very funny, Claire is good but her Dad is creepy... and don't ask me why, but I like Nicki/Jessica. Laughing

My collection of favourite shows might be slightly unusual:

Friends, Sex and the City, Charmed, The Tribe, Spongebob Squarepants, Bottom, The Young Ones, The Office US, Grey's Anatomy, Fairly Odd Parents, Ugly Betty, Ghost Whisperer... I could go on too. Laughing First 3 are the best in my opinion.
