I know it's a gory one, but I think this film is so much fun to watch. I don't find myself getting bored at any point. I will definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD. I might even ask for the OST for my birthday from somebody.

Let's see...
I love musical films. I love Tim Burton's films. And of course, I love Alan Rickman Very Happy
So it was inevitable I love Sweeney Todd Laughing
As I said a few days ago in another thread, I think Turpin is the mos despicable and hateful character Alan has played in his entire career, but he's great in this movie, one of his finest performances.

I agree with everything you say, Omega13!
And I guess Judge Turpin is also a man of his time, back than I guess they had a whole different view on, say sentencing a child to death.

It really is such a great movie, and the look of the whole thing is just brilliant.
I am so gonna buy it when it comes out on dvd, than I will be able to sing along! "These are probably the worst pies in London... la la la" Very Happy ! But I will of course be quiet when Alan sings!

He is quite a vile character, but I love it when he says " You gandered!!"
Is the soundtrack coming out on CD, does anyone know?? I'd buy it.

Don't forget about Johnny Depp. That man is mouth-wateringly gorgeous. He is one of my other crushes who is old enough to father me... although I'm not obsessed with him like I am with Alan, I still would not kick him out of bed for farting. Yum-my. I know he isn't looking his hottest in this film but I still can't help myself.

Sorry I'm getting a bit off topic. I'm back from Johnny land now.

Right. Alan is wonderfully creepy in this. Turpin is seriously messed up - he wanted the mother AND the daughter??? And due to this, I am actually comfortable to say that I was satisfied with the films ending. But obviously, I still love Alan. I love that he is such a great actor that he can make me loathe his character.

Johnny Depp is great as Sweeney, just love his hair!
But he fades compared to Alan... But I think Johnny is a great actor! Love him in Gilbert Grape and Sleepy Hollow!

Johnny Depp is a great actor, no denying that, but he doesn't appeal to me physically...he's far too smooth and a pretty boy. I like a bit of rough, it's got to be said!!!! My daughter adores Mr Depp though, and I won the mum of the year award for taking her to the cinema to see Sweeney Todd. (the film is certified an 18 here, and she's only 15)!! Great day out!!
She had Johnny to drool over, and I had Alan. Win, win situation!!!!
