I know those certificates are there for a reason but, well, I couldn't possibly miss out on this one!!

I sometimes don't understand those criteria anyway. They're different for every country. Sweeney Todd got the 16 certificate here. Bridget Jones got an R rating in the US, but in Germany, everyone above the age of 11 could see it.

I know!!! I'm gonna make it one of my life ambitions to change the system!!
And quite often the cinema staff just let kids in anyway-half of my sister's class (so a bunch of crazy 12-13 year olds) were allowed in to see one of the "Saw" movies (I'm a horror fan but I really dislike these<<) just because the screen was empty...but they weren't allowed to see "I Am Legend" which has a 15 certificate...what is the world coming too?!
Okay, rant over.

I saw this film for the first time today, and, well, wow. I was really surprised at how good all the actors' voices are. Alan Rickman was excellent as always, it is a shame he didn't have a bit more dialogue, but then again, it's not exactly his film really! I must admit, I'm not a fan of Alan's promotional photos for this film, but he really does look quite good in the film itself, I quite liked the stubble.

It has to be said though, that the boy in the film did a superb job, I was very stunned by his voice in particular. A very good job on the part of Tim Burton! Very Happy

Yeah, I agree. It's a shame his part wasn't bigger, but like you said, Skittle, it wasn't his film.

The " You gandered" scene was wonderful though, and would have loved more!!
Their voices were good too, but I liked the way they sang "conversationally", it added to the atmosphere, I thought!

Arrrrgh, I still haven't got my hands on the dvd!
It was supposed to come out here like two weeks ago, but for some reason it's not coming out until wednesday next week! I seriously can't wait any longer!!!! The only positive thing is that I think they will have a good price on it at my local store.
Can't! Wait! For! Alan! In! Tight! Trousers! Anymore!!!

My mom's also getting impatient, Marie. I have the English DVD, but it doesn't have German subtitles. I've told her so much about this movie that she can barely take the suspense now.
We watched "Perfume" together last night - it's the second time in a row she has picked the movie, and the second time in a row that it was one of Alan's... do I recognize a pattern here Question

That's so cool that your Mum is into Alan! I haven't "come out" to mine yet. Although, we do have scarily similar taste in men and she did date a 40 year old when she was 18... so, she probably couldn't criticise me hehe!

Alan is the only man my mum and I can agree on. We usually look at totally different men. My mum is single and allowed to look all she wants, even at Alan.

Yes, yes, yes! It is finally mine!
It has been a beautiful day here, very hot and not a cloud in the sky. And what have I been doing- staying inside with the curtains closed, getting the Sweeney Todd- dvd experience!
It was even better than I remembered! And I had to scream out loud, in a very girly way, every time Alan was on! (Poor Charlie was trying to take a nap and I just woke him up over and over again!)
Alan is sooooo good, and I just love his look!
Ah, what a great wednesday! Very Happy
I better buy an extra copy cause I think this is going to be worn out pretty fast....
