I'm reading the funniest fan fic, it's sort of a take on Bridget Jones Diary (the book) which I loved (book and movie). The fic is by someone named Wonk (great name) and she did Hermione's Diary, then part 2 is Snape's and it's "v. v. good". But, the funny part is, he was given a survey that Winky found, and is answering, like one of ours, your favorite singer, time of day, etc. Hilarious!! Here's a link to Wonk's page, and I gues you should read Hermione's diary 1st, but so far (and I haven't finished it) I like Snape's better! Laughing

read it just for the surveys! He says his favorite movie is Galaxy Quest!! Laughing

Hehe, I read the first chapter as well, and i found it quite funny. But my question is where are the surveys? I don't think I saw them...

Did you ever get on the site? Because I just tried the link and it went to Wonk's page, then I scrolled down and found Snapes' Diary and the chapters worked OK for me. don't know what's wrong.

Glad everyone is enjoying it, the rest of the diary was OK, but I loved the surveys, and he fiinished the survey later in the diary, so you have to look for it, it's about 300 questions! Laughing

I find the best fan fics by going to fanfic.net and finding a story I like (like the one's by Wonk) and then looking at her page to see what she has listed as her favorite stories or fav. author's and read some of theirs, then look to see what they like and go from there....and so on, and so on...etc.
and I go by word of mouth, I found some by referral on here, too.

if you like Hermione stories, here's a good site:
http://grangerenchanted.com/enchant/viewuser.php?uid=264

also look up this site:
Fiction Alley, there is tons and tons of Harry Potter fiction on it, of all sorts. and art work, it seems to be a whole HP world!

Happy hunting! Laughing

I do the same thing Nora and I discovered grangerenchanted.com. as well. I'm not usually a big HG/SS fan but there are some amazingly done HG/SS fanfic out there that totally hooked me into the particular story I'm reading. I guess it just boils down to good writing. I like Fiction Alley too. There are some really talented artists there.

Isn't fan fiction the best!!

On one of the SS/HG writing forums I'm on, someone made the comment that JKR finished "her books". Now it's time for us to take it from where she left off and make it better. It was so funny the way she worded it I about died laughing!

There was one story I read a while ago that I'll check out for you and see if I can find again where Snape kept a diary and kind of lures Hermione (Sorry, I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE Snape/Hermione shipper!!) to his dungeons, traps her then modifies her memory so that the only thing she knows is that Snape is her husband and they are on the run and in hiding. Snape didn't leave her with any memory of magic or anything. As sad as it sounds, it was so amazingly good!

you know, this is rather sad to admit but...
I've always loved romance novels (since I was a teenager)
but now, (since Nora Roberts is being sooo slow getting out her next book--what is her problem??)
I'm reading just whatever, and half of these aren't as good as some of the HG/SS stories I've read on fanfic sites!
Or, I'm just obsessed with Severus Snape...(no...it couldn't be that!)

I guess it's just such a dramatic pairing, Hermione always seemed more mature than her years, more mature than Ron, for sure. And Severus Crying or Very sad why wouldn't half the girls in Hogwarts have had a thing for him at one time or another, even if they WERE scared of him? He's very sexy, swooping around in that cape, and that frock coat Exclamation and his incredible voice. And, he's brooding! what teenage (and beyond) girl doesn't love brooding men?
And, I suppose we all want, deep down to see Severus happy, don't we?

Very well said Nora!

For me, Snape was my favorite character from the very beginning. Before the movies even came out I was in love with the character. I loved the snarkiness and just the fact that I love the 'bad' characters!

Then the movie came along and I was forever hooked on Snape when it was Alan playing him but I didn't become a Snape/Hermione shipper until the third movie. And you can call me gross or whatever but the part where Lupin is transforming into the werewolf and beats the stuffing out of Sirius, Snape pretty much throws himself in front of the trio... then when Harry goes playing hero for Sirius, Snape grabs hold of Hermione and my poor overactive imagination went on hyperdrive then and I started looking up whether anyone else liked the pairing, not knowing that the pairing had been around since the books started!

But Hermione has far more in common with Snape than any of the other character really: they're both insanely bossy, love books, intelligent... plus it's fun LOL

Yea, I felt very drawn to Snape from the start of the books, trying to figure him out, I never felt that he was an evil person. Maybe not really a NICE person, but not evil.
And, I was always sure he had a backstory, there was just something about him. You knew he didn't just show up at Hogwarts, with a bad attitude, snarling at the students.
But, yea, when I saw the first movie! zoinks!
Then Snape became the central focus for me. And, in some ways, to me, he is a major, major character in the books, it all traces back to his love of Lily...so many things were done because of that love.

We were discussing it at work one night, right after DH came out, and I said, "It's really one big long love story" and I think that's sorta true.
