So, I just found out that there is going to be a Smurfs movie, with live action and CGI Smurfs (like Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunks). I've read a lot of articles about it, quite a lot of people have put in the comments sections that they think Alan would be a good Gargamel. More people have mentioned him than any other actor.
First of all, I have mixed feelings about the movie in the first place. This was my ALL TIME FAVORITE cartoon growing up, and at 27, I still watch it saturday mornings on the cartoon network. I think they're going to ruin it.
As much as I would love to see Alan in as many movies in the theater as humanly possible, I don't think I'd want him in a SMURF movie. It'd just be too weird.
What do you guys think? |

I think Alan may have just a little too much class to be a smurf!.....but he did play a fish (?!!) _________________ Alan Rickman...*sigh*... enough said.

Hey, why not?
As a child, I was a total fan of that show, I just loved Azrael and Gargamel, so it'll be a great thing for my inner child to relive my childhood with the sexy voice of Alan _________________

I've never watched The Smurfs, but somehow, I just can't imagine Alan in anything to do with little blue funny sounding creatures.... _________________ ~~~Nora~~~

I'm with Nora, never watched the Smurfs, and the words Alan Rickman and Smufs just doesn't go together for me...
But still, if he would actually do it, you can bet I will be first in line to see it! |

As long as they let him keep his hair (Gargamel's balding!), I'm game! _________________

Actually, I'd kind of like to see 5 minutes of Alan rickman in a Smurf movie. But honestly, is the entertainment industry THAT desperate for movie ideas that they have to remake every classic cartoon? Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Scooby Doo, not to mention ALL those superhero movies...there is better material out there. _________________ "You people.
