I am really surprised that noone has started a topic for him!
I know, I know....Alan is more than Snape. Rolling Eyes
But you have to admit, Severus is one of the characters that most Rickman fans really love. So,...let's chat.

PS~ admin.- if this isn't the correct place for this topic, I'm sorry.

I think perhaps it's one of the favorite characters of the fans because of the popularity of the movies...

But I have to confess I have a big crush on him >w< Even if I don't picture Snape like that, by the way.
I think that's because of the way he speaks, especially since the third movie ( or maybe it's just who finds his voice deeper in HP3/4 ? )
The "Don't lie to me" in HP4... I went a second time to the theater just to hear it again 8D

I just love him playing Snape! My favorite line is from the third movie "Turn to page 394" I can't wait to see him in the 5th one.

This is indeed the correct section for it.

I actually have a whole Snape site called Greasy Git (http://www.rickman-online.net/snape). It's in the process of getting more content added to it, as I originally had it as a Snape/Alan Rickman site.

I do have to say that Snape is one of my favorite characters not only that Alan has played, but just in general. He is one of the only characters in the entire series that doesn't operate in a black and white world.

word . :]

imo, severus snape is the most interesting char in the entire HP world
- too bad that there's just one book left and I doubt there'll be as much information about him as I want to x]

however. that SS is played by alan rickman probably made me a fan of the actor, at least I was very fond of the man who played him and thought they picked someone really good. that's how I got into the AR!fandom and imo he still does a great job. AR may not be the exact picture of the wizard I have in mind, but in the end I can't think of a better actor.
the voice, the facial expression, the way he speaks - that's pretty close to my image of severus snape (yes, the nose, too. lol).

the only thing that starts to bother me is that he (AR) gets a little too chubby for snape Smile not that I like AR any less, it's not narrowing his acting skills in any way either, but hell, the buttons on his robes will soon spring off his belly and chest 8DD lol!

XD So true... His robes would have suit him better when he was 35 himself >w<
Not that he's not sexy right now, though *Owo

Oooh you mean like the moment where he walks through the room and stands looking at the vault, crossing his arms ? Owo"" My favorite moment of the movie...
But I suppose this would belong to a Hans Gruber subject >.>

I love the way he crosses his arms with his cloak in the first scene of HP1, too. He's very good at that.

I was wondering what happening with your Greasy Git site. I've added the 'new one' to my bookmarks ^^

Mmm. what can I say about Severus Snape? Too much xD AR does a magnificent job with each character he portrays, and when I watched Die Hard a few weeks ago I was reminded of a certain Professor we all know and [sometimes] love.

I must say that I honestly smirk everytime I read in HP about Snape taunting Harry, because he's so good at it.

I think I would honestly have a heart attack, either that or melt into a lustful puddle. -grins-

No kidding. There are at least 3 different ways you can interpret everything he does, down to the last glance. And even as we get on the series and we've learned a bit more about him, there are more questions than ever! I love that about him and I think it would be such a shame if Rowling kills him off in this last book. What would be even worse if she made him turn out actually evil, not just this back and forth we've seen thus far, and then killed him off. Imo, it would be way too easy for her to do it, it would just be saying to everyone, "you know what? You can judge a book by its cover." And leave it at that so that she didn't have to go into explanations of his motives.

@madamtorsion:

yer right.. damn, that would be lame if she kills him off just so she doesn't have to explain everything. Confused really, I'd be more than disappointed. there's so much to this character, I'm sure after the last book I still have hundred of questions about him, his past and his motives..

whether he's good or evil.. we'll definitely going to find out.
I think, it'd be too eay to let him be 'evil', but on the other hand... severus, the bitter but sacrificing hero? Rolling Eyes I don't know, that doesn't seem to fit.. I'm tending to the theory that he's neither of those things. you know, neither black nor white, but something grey in between. just concerned about himself and what's best for him. quite egoistic, but that's how I see him Wink

perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps I'll change my mind, but that's the best I can think of right now ^^;

Hi!
I'm a big Snape fan too, not only mr Rickman's performance, but the character himself. I liked Snape when I read the books, and when I heard Alan was going to play him, I almost jump! Very Happy
Right now I'm moderator in a Harry Potter forum, and we have a thread just for Rickman/Snape fans. We call it "El club de las babas", something like "the drool club". I'm sure you guess why we call it that... Wink
I like Snape just because hés the most complex character in the whole series by far, and he's a complete mistery. And I must say that I love misteries Wink

ps.- by the way, I'm one of those who thinks he's still one of the good guys Wink

Oh, I'm sure that's what he's playing at. Though I think he might be leaning towards the good side, know what I mean? He's doing just enough to keep himself in Voldemort's good graces should the tide turn, but for now his loyalties lie with the Order.

It would be horrible if Rowling shoved him firmly into either category, really. Then again, she's the one that came up with the character and knows his entire past and all of his motives, so anything else is really just how we're interpreting it and not necessarily backed up by "fact."

indeed.
what would I give to know these 'facts' (or more about his past).
I bet one could write an entire book series about this guy.. he's so @_@
