I agree, I love that part! Alan's face is priceless, he almost doesn't need to say anything! I'm not sure how you could keep a straight face watching Rowan Atkinson go on and on about gift wrapping something like that!

oh, and another great Brit com---Faulty Towers! classic I miss that one, too.

It was too funny... the contrast between Rowan Atkinson's character merrily scooping potpourri into the bag as the agitation on Alan's face mounted... hysterical!

LOL Alan and Emma's 'story' is pretty much the only parts I like of the movie ... no, wait, that didn't come out right. I prefer Alan and Emma's part more than the rest... and Josh Groban's ex-girlfriend is in it (and the part in the beginning where Bill was singing 'Christmas is all around', I swear it looks like Josh is leaning against the wall drinking a cuppa LOL

I just watched Amazing Grace. Fantastic film, beautifully shot with a fantastic cast. Highly recommended to anyone who likes period pieces (though some of its themes are relevant even today).

I watched North & South - the entire miniseries - over the past couple of days. Absolutely beautiful story, fantastic cast (Tim Pigott-Smith, Sinead Cusack, Richard Armitage, Brendan Coyle). It'll just break your heart and put back together again. Over and over and over.

I also saw Run Fatboy Run, which only gives me another reason to love Dylan Moran. I really wish he'd star in a movie. Though he was perfect opposite Simon Pegg.

I'm going to see La Vie en Rose tonight, which is a biopic based on the life story of French singer Edith Piaf. Not sure how I feel about it. It's work-related so I'll get paid to go, basically, but it just really isn't exciting me all that much. Will let you all know how it is...

I really liked La vie en rose! I like Edith Piaf a lot, so I had really looked forward seeing the movie, and I was not dissapointed. The girl playing Edith is wonderful, I can´t remember her name right now. Looking forward to see what you think about it!

I was pleasantly surprised by the movie and thought that Marion Cotillard did a fantastic job in her portrayal of Edith Piaf. I didn't know a lot about Piaf prior to the movie, so did a little research and it seemed Cotillard was pretty much spot-on. It was also nice to catch Gerard Depardieu in a film- I haven't seen him in anything in a while and had forgotten how fond I am of him as an actor. It was a great film, thanks for recommending it.

If you watch enough French films, you'll see that he's in every other one that comes out. Daniel Auteuil (you've got to see him in Après vous, it's fantastic!) is in the rest. There was one film with both of them in it, I don't think any other film came out of France that year. Laughing

We were talking about Love Actually not too long ago, and I noticed at Target yesterday (I love Target by the way, I wish it were closer than 40 miles!!) that they had a bunch of DVDs on sale) and it was one of them (5.95 or something) but it was all sold out!!! I'm not having much luck getting some of these movies!!

Nora... one of my favorite singers is releasing a Christmas album on Oct 9 and Target is having a special thing on it (DVD.... Okay, there is a point in telling you that... I promise LOL). I got my copy of LA from there at Easter and I got it for $10.... I would have no problem picking you up a copy of it. My Target always has LA there. Just send me a PM.

oh, I'm sure I can find it, our Wal-Mart may have it, I've saved it on my TIVO anyway, but it can't stay there forever! I was just surprised it was sold out, the other movies, good ones, too were not!
