Amazon UK doesn't have "An Awfully Big Adventure" any more, just the marketplace offers, which are either shipping from the US or sound a bit suspicious. Importing DVDs from the US costs expensive shipping and taxes, in most cases more than the DVD's worth.
Alan has made so many movies that I haven't seen yet, so why start with one that's difficult to get? I still have "Blow Dry", "Mesmer" and "Quigley Down Under" on my desk, and I haven't had the time to watch any of them yet  |
OOOHHH!! Watch "Blow Dry" first! it's the best! Alan looks great in "Mesmer", but in my (humble, non movie critic) opinion, the movie itself isn't as great. BD is better, it's more comedy, which I love, it's just a fun movie, I've seen it more than once and always enjoy it, and you really connect with Alan's character. (and with Shelley, his ex) (and Bill Nighy is in it, I love him!) I haven't seen Quigley in years, I need to get it and watch it again... but, Blow Dry is one of my favorite Alan movies! (Big Adventure,is not, BTW)

I love Warren Clarke's character in Blow Dry. He just grows in confidence as the film goes on...at the same rate as his quiff!! Funny little touch, love it!!

Just in case you're waiting for an update  : I finished Chapter 4, it's on the way to my wonderful new beta and will be up as soon as I get it back.
While you're waiting, you can check out her work on Chapter 3, which, in my humble opinion, has gained a lot.
