I'd better change the title of this fic to "Great Expectations". I mean, first Marie and her bondage fantasy with Brandon, and now Jackie and her threesome with Alex and Phil... I'm in so much trouble...

You've chosen one of the few characters I can't write. There is no Code-2 DVD of "An Awfully Big Adventure", so I haven't seen the movie and I don't have a chance of watching it any time soon  So sorry! Anyone else you fancy?

I haven't managed to find a region 2 copy of this film, either, and it's one I desperately want to see. It's for sale on Amazon in video format, but my video player chews up tape, so it's not worth it!!

Why don't you just get a muti region player. I got mine (DVD REGION 1 Player) for 40.00 (us dollars) and changed it to an all region player. It was really easy. And it plays every region.

I have a player that can be turned into multi-region, but to be completely honest, I think it's not worth the trouble. It's still within the 2-year warranty, which I'd lose by turning it into multi-region.
Amazon UK doesn't have "An Awfully Big Adventure" any more, just the marketplace offers, which are either shipping from the US or sound a bit suspicious. Importing DVDs from the US costs expensive shipping and taxes, in most cases more than the DVD's worth.
Alan has made so many movies that I haven't seen yet, so why start with one that's difficult to get? I still have "Blow Dry", "Mesmer" and "Quigley Down Under" on my desk, and I haven't had the time to watch any of them yet

I'd do that, except I've bought most of his films now, and it's the "difficult to get hold of" ones that I'm waiting to get!!
I haven't got- Close my Eyes, Closet Land, or An Awfully Big Adventure.
I think those are the main ones I need to get.
BTW Blow Dry is my FAVE Alan film.It's great (except for dodgy accents)
