I remember the documentary,i think its in the extras, the director was nervous to call Alan. _________________ "Fools who wear their hearts proudly on their sleeves, who cannot control their emotions, who wallow in sad memories and allow themselves to be provoked so easily-weak people,in other words-they stand no chance against his powers!" |

I liked this movie, not just because Alan was in it. I like the whole historical aspect of it. As someone whose ancestors were Irish, (and a good friend is, too) it was very interesting.
Alan was very good here, looked amazingly like Eamon De Valera!
And who doesn't love Liam Neeson. And I've always liked Aidan Quinn, I think he deserves more recognition than he gets most of the time.
and, Julia Roberts is my favorite actress, love her to death, but it wasn't much of a part for her (but I bet it was great being on that set!)

I just watched trailer and an interview with Alan. It looks like a very powerful movie. My list of films to buy is growing daily it would seem...! _________________ :.*My Flavour Of Choice? Alan. Of The Rickman Variety*.: |

I like the movie, but it´s not a huge favourite of mine.
But Alan is great of course, and very cute in his dress!, and Liam Neeson is perfect for the part. |

Your right about that!!! In one part Alan played his character so well that they showed it in the Special Fetures and you couldn't tell where the real character started and Alan finished. He was awsome as usual...if you get the chance look through the special features again you'll se what I'm talking about...way to go Alan _________________ DeAna

My Alan collection is growing alarmingly fast too. Liked the historical aspect of this film, found it quite deep at times, but as you say Alan was as awesome as ever. _________________ Alan Rickman...*sigh*... enough said.
