What does everyone think of this role?
I thought he played it brilliantly...just like everything else. Such an everyday character with a real problem. I'm sure there are actual people that will stoop to this level. It was cool to see them come together in the end. Gissing did a lot to make him look bad! There was nothing he wouldn't do and I've seen something like that before in the real world. Really reminded me of office behavior...to the extreme. |

I have not had the chance to see the film yet. I did something silly. I ordered the NTSC DVD. The booklet on my DVD player says it plays American DVDs as well, but I am sure there will be troubel. _________________ Alan Rickman('s) Acting touches nerves you have absolutely no control over. |

This is a great film, although John Gissing is quite a vile character...it seems he will go as low as it takes to get what he wants!!
You can sense his desperation to keep his job...do you feel sorry for him for that?....no, I dont think so....love the chair peeing scene though...I could believe he ACTUALLY did pee....it was filmed that well!! _________________ Alan Rickman...*sigh*... enough said.
