I put this here because it involves a "Love Actually" co-star of Alan's. Kris Marshall, who played Colin, and was also in My Family, which I have only seen a few times, was hit by a car last night. Here's a link to the article:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/28/nkris228.xml
sounds like he's stable and hopefully he'll make a full recovery.

Did he make appearances in the Thin Blue Line? It's not mentioned in his IMDB page, but when I first saw him in My Family, I seemed to recognize him and it seemed like it was from that show...

I was really sad when I heard about this, I hope he'll be ok!

Over here, he's a more constant presence in adverts for BT (fairly funny adverts considering what they're about!), well he was, I don't really watch that much tv anymore. There might be some on youtube though.

I don't remember seeing Kris Marshall in The Thin Blue Line......he may have had a small bit part I suppose.....according to our daily papers, he is awake and talking, so hopefully he won't be too bad!

I don't know if he was actually in The Thin Blue Line or not...he seemed so familiar when I first saw him, and there seemed to be someone in that show like him...but like I said, it wasn't on his IMDB page.
I'm glad to hear he's doing better, head injuries are scary!

That was a very good My Family clip! I used to love My Family, but I wasn't too keen on the introduction of the character Abbey. I hope Kris Marshall gets better soon, it sounds good if he's up and talking but head injuries can be complicated things.

Poor Kris. He's such a fun actor. I saw him in Treats last year in London and he was wonderful - very dynamic. I hope that he recovers soon.

Just to reassure you Divas.....in todays newspapers were pictures of Kris Marshall out and about!!!!He's sporting a couple of beautiful black eyes but he's out of hospital and smiling at the cameras!!!

I think he's had a lucky escape!!

I did find it quite sad that alongside that photo was one of him immediately after the accident- lying face down in the road...there are some sad sick people out there!!!

Oh, I'm so gald he's doing OK, but that is sad that someone took a pic of him like that! and the sad thing is, they probably got paid for that pic, too.
He did have a very lucky escape.

In Germany he could sue the paper for grieve and damages.

There are examples of photos not being bought. Like those of Princess Diana's death or of our Angela Merckel in a swim-suit. I wonder whether papers really need sensationalist material to sell. I personally prefer papers with well-researched pieces instead of page three girls.

Unfortunately, the majority of the paper buying public are not caring upstanding citizens like ourselves. They are vultures just waiting to pounce on the latest degrading, upsetting or most private photograph of any celebrities unfortunate enough to find themselves in such a position. This is why the most sensationalist papers make the most money....it's sick!
