Dee, that quote is from 'The Deathly Hallows'. After Dumbledore asks Severus "Have you grown to care for the boy, after all?" Severus replies "For him?" and launches a patronus of the Silver Doe. Dumbledore asks "After all this time?" and Severus says "Always". I chose it because, for me, it means that I have survived life in general and I have somehow managed to remain my true self and pursue my goals dispite all the roadblocks in my life. After all this time my true self survives.

Semper (which basically means 'Always')

Man that's right how could I forget that!!!! That was my favorite line from the book. I think I fell in love with Snape at that moment. I kept a book mark in that page just to go back and read it from time to time.

I like that you chose that quote and how you find yourself and your strength represented in it. It's amazing how so few words can have such an impact on us. And how meaningful they can be to us.
I chose my quote for how it represented myself as well, though not in the same way. My dog, my heart pasted away two years ago...there is not one day that goes by that I don't think about him or miss him. Sometimes I wake up crying thinking he's still in pain or that he's still here. When Alan said that poem in Truly Madly Deeply I cried like a baby thinking of him.
***Thank you for sharing that with me and the rest of us Rickman Fans. It really is nice to be in this forum we are like a little family.*** Very Happy
DeAna

Beautiful puppy, Dee!
Isn't it amazing how much we come to love them and even depend on them? There are pets we have lost over the years that I still miss, not that I don't love the two kitties I have now, but...
I really miss having a dog, they all have such loving personalities, they become a part of you.

And only people who love a pet of their own understand that losing a pet is like losing a friend or family.

That is why everybody understands Hagrid here?

Me, too, I think I cried during every Hagrid battle scene in DH, just because I was so worried!
he's just like an overgrown child, so loveable, and part of it is his love for his critters!

Does anyone watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show? Whenever they show the Neopolitan (sp?) Mastiff (Fang!) they always get a giant cheer from the crowd, and the announcer always mention that it's the Harry Potter dog.
(The adorable Beagle that won this year was bred at a kennel in Belleville, IL-which is the city where I work, so everyone is really excited-especially that kennel!)

Well, I love Snape.
And I think he should not have been killed without having at least one good thing in his life. I think at least one person should have loved him. Or maybe he should have seen the Dark Lord vanquished. I am not sure what he would have liked to have in his life. At least one good thing should have been in his life.
