Have any of you heard Adam Leonard's - Not Alan Rickman....? It's great, put's a smile on my face every morning. I recommend you download it. I think it's on one of AR fan vid's on youtube, i can't remember the exact one though..

YES! I love this one. It's so good!
You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oly_Up4y9oE
I think there are other versions but this one has the lyrics on the side (not sure how accurate they are). It makes me chuckle.

As far as other music that I like, I would have to say...
Placebo (the first band I was actually obsessed with)
The Cure (I'm seeing them for my 21st birthday in March)
My Chemical Romance (my guilty pleasure)
Depeche Mode (I saw them two years ago and they were fantastic)
IAMX (Sexy electro)
Sneaker Pimps (90s/early naughties trip-hop)
Billy Talent (music to go crazy to)
Alanis Morissette/ KT Tunstall/ Kelly Clarkson (Girly stuff)
Muse (Just plain awesome
Arcade Fire (Poignant and amazing)

I also like some other slightly more obscure electro and chilled out stuff like Au Revoire Simone, Air, and Asobi Seksu

Ooooh, just found this thread....thought I'd share......

(sorry it's a bit late)

Kate Bush- My all time fave...will never tire of listening to her
Alison Moyet-Superb voice
Il Divo-Love their harmonies, quite partial to a bit of opera
Queen-Pure class-timeless
Take That- Sing-a-long songs!
Texas-Scottish style! (as am I, by birth)

Those are my faves but I listen to most things...don't like the new "mockney" sound that's come out in England(yeuch), don't like rap, or heavy, heavy metal!!
If I can sing along, I'll like

Fave songs:-
"Killing me Softly"-Roberta Flack
"Sometimes when we touch"-Dan Hill
"Windmills in my Mind"-Alison Moyet
"Don't stop me now"-Queen
"Stop"-Sam Brown
"Perhaps,perhaps,perhaps"-Doris Day
"Words"-Extreme
"Imagine"-John Lennon
"The man with the child in his eyes"-Kate Bush
"California Dreaming"- The Mamas and the Papas

Tell me your faves, I'd love to know!!! (told you I was nosy!!!)

I LOVE "Killing Me Softly"! It's such a beautiful song.
and I love "California Dreamin", too, the Mamas and the Papas had such perfect harmonies.

My favorite songs...that's hard, I think it changes, but some that I've always loved:
~Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison (one of my ring tones on my phone-kinda makes me wish I was a brown-eyed girl!)
~The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel (also great harmonies)
~Hotel California by The Eagles (one of the very best songs ever written)
~Hey Jude (probably IS the best song ever written, although many would say it's "Yesterday)
~It's Too Late by Carole King (whom all female singer/songwriters owe a thank you to, in my opinion)
~Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton
~More Than A Feeling by Boston (another ring-tone, for my son)
~Music of the Night by Michael Crawford (from Phantom, of course!)
~Maggie May by Rod Stewart (my main ring-tone!)

See, I can't pick a favorite!!! And yes, I know those are all old songs, no new ones have become favorites, most new music can't compare for me.
I really, really do like "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's (my ring-tone for my daughter, since she introduced me to the song!), and some things by Maroon 5 and I love Kelly Clarkson, but none of those are favorites.
I guess that makes me old!!

Wow, my favorites? Well, it depends on the moment, but I can easily pick up 5 that never change:

-Eternal Flame by The Bangles. Yeah, I know, really lame, but I just love this song. Weird, because my favorite music is rock and heavy metal, but I just love it.
-Bohemian Raphsody by Queen. A masterpiece.
-Crime of passion by Mike Oldfield
-Poison by Alice Cooper
-Total eclipse of the heart by Bonnie Tyler

Favorites, hmmm... there are SOOO many that I don't think I can pick! But ones that I always rock out to when they come on the radio include:

1) Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran

2) Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds (a very special song to me)

3) White Wedding - Billy Idol

4) Express Yourself - Madonna

5) Hotel California - Eagles

6) Eleanor Rigby - Beatles (Don't know why, it's such a grim song but I love it... guess I can identify...)

7) Paperback Writer - Beatles

8 ) Hey Jude - The Beatles

9) New Moon on Monday - Duran Duran (My favorite of theirs, I think...)

10) In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel

And there's many more, but these are the top ten that come to mind, at least today!

Great choices, Omega. I love Eternal Flame, too... not lame! It's a really pretty love song. Also love Total Eclipse of the Heart... I remember them playing that at high school dances and crying in the corner because the boy I liked was dancing with my best friend (as usual!!!) LOL!!

Wow!! Great choices, people!!!

Eternal Flame was playing on the jukebox the exact moment that Andrew and I first met (ahhh!)

Hey Jude has such a lovely melody!!

Wonderful Tonight is beautiful...love the sentiment behind it!

And Bohemian Rhapsody is sheer timeless class!!

What a tasteful bunch you all are!!

Of course, I love Bohemian Rhapsody, it's incredible!

And, I've always loved Total Eclipse of the Heart. A few years ago, my friends and I went to NY to see what became a "Broadway Disaster",
Dance of the Vampires (starring Michael Crawford). We all loved it, he made a very good vampire (but the comedy part added to it is what made it fail)
Anyhoo, the music was good, seeing Michael live was incredible. One of the pivotal songs was Total Eclipse, sung by MC and Mandy Gonzalez (I think was her name!). It makes a great vampire song--"Forevers gonna start tonight..."
(By the way, we also got a back stage tour from one of the cast members Ray McLeod, it was great! I was on his mailing list getting inside info! how cool was that??)
I have a pic from that tour (with my old hairstyle that I got rid of when I saw the NY photos!)
