I've always like Alan Rickman in his roles but I suppose the fanatisism (forgive the spelling errors) didn't start until Snape.

I suppose I have a weekness for dark brooding intelligent men. My husband is one. Though I do fanticise them being sensative and seductive which my husband is not most of the time.

He has surprised me these last three weeks with being very paitent with me and this dang vertigo having to drive me every where. He even went out of his way just to being me a steak sandwich for lunch yesturday.

Well there are my two cents.

I have seen many of Alan's films at the cinema before I developed this addiction. Snape in the Order of the Phoenix set me off. I do not know why. I do not know why it took me five Harry Potters either. Right now I am feeling a bit helpless, it is is a bit like being 15 again. Thank GOD for the internet.

I do not collect cuttings from newspapers oder posters (not yet). But today "Return of the Native" arrived and I am in for 18 hours of Alan reading to me.

It started out with Snape for me, and turned into this insane phenomenon since that first film.

I've never written to him or anything like that, just admired ever since from afar Wink

I first saw him in Robin Hood, I thought he was great, but I was a bit too young to find him attractice, I thought he was just really cool. Than I got a bit older and watched die Hard on video, and than the obsession started...
I have never written to him or anything, I just watch his movies... over and over again..and make my own, dirty little films in my head... Wink

I saw Die hard many years ago, and I really liked the movie and the character of Hans Gruber, althoug I was very young to find him hot.... Then I saw Robin Hood and thought "hey, that's the same guy! He's really a cool villiain, he's kicking Costner's ass!" Again, I was young to find him attractive Wink
And many, many years later I saw Dogma, and he was just perfect. I found all the movie great, but Metatron was simply the best in it. That's the moment I realized Alan Rickman was hot and a very very good actor.
And then came Galaxy quest. As a StarTrek fan, I really love that movie, because is the best parody/homage/critic/whatever you want to call it about the trek universe and its hardcore fans (yes, we have sense of humor. Some of us do. Really... Laughing ), and that was the beggining of my obsession.
And then came Harry Potter and Severus Snape. I was a Snape fan since I read the first book, long before the movies. And when I heard WB was making a film, I was happy because I really liked the books. And when I heard Rickman would play Snape, I jumped around. Since then I'm a real obsessive fan. Rickman's and Snape's Laughing Wink

My story is pretty similar really. I saw him in robin Hood and die Hard and although I thought he wsa a brilliant actor I didnt fancy him as I was a bit young. And then Dogma started my obsession and each movie has deepened it.
I have read the HArry Potter books sinc day 1 and absolutly rejoiced when I found Alan would be playing my favourite character..could life get any better! Laughing

It "started" with Snape for me, but I actually never knew who the actor was, and never really thought about finding out. Then a few weeks ago, I decided to google "Severus Snape" and found out it was Alan Rickman. When I checked out the list of movies he appeared in....it was like a lightbulb went off. I suddenly realized I had seen him in alot of those movies already and had really liked him & his acting from those times. Duh, where have I been?! hahaha Now, I'm renting some of the movies again to reacquaint myself with Alan Rickman, and I'm loving every minute of it. Mr. Green

Wow that's a long story, get ready girls. Ugh you guys are so lucky to have been old enough to remember Alan in his past movies. I wasn't even born when Die Hard came out, and I was only 2 when Robin Hood came out. I saw both on HBO when I was really really young, not even 10 I think. So everything was just like a blur to me. In grade 9 my English teacher showed us Truly Madly Deeply, still, did nothing for me. Then I got into movies, started watching lotta films, joining web forums, and I got to know Alan as an actor. I thought he was attractive but I wasn't really obsessed like I am now =P. I sat through 5 Harry Potter movies and still, no obsession, just thought he was great but that was about it. Then one day out of the blue I decided to search Alan on youtube, and I found In Demand. Holy this man's gorgeous. A day later I watched Snow Cake and I was definitely hooked. Great looking man and an amazing actor, who can resist?

OMG, I've been an Alan fan for longer than some of you have been alive, LOL! I started with Die Hard and Robin Hood, but really fell in love (as twisted as it may seem Twisted Evil ) when I saw Closet Land. (He really can interrogate me whenever he wants...)

My favorite roles to date are Alex Hughes and P.L. O'Hara. I really liked him in An Awfully Big Adventure (in spite of the slightly disturbing subject matter...)

I agree, he is just wonderful in Closet Land! My friends did not see my point there, they thought he was just so mean.
I know, he is all evil and stuff... but still... if I had to be interrogated by anyone, I would want it to be someone hot, like Alan! Then it woldn´t be all bad...

I hear all of you! I had always had a slight infatuation with him from Robin Hood to Sense and Sensibility (I would have taken him over Hugh). But it has been over the past year - and watching his films - that the obsession began.

Plus, I loved Snape as a character from the beginning so the two blur together when I think of Snape. It is just good to have a place to chat and share the obsession! By poor husband just grins and bears it (he does have the Roman features like Alan so that helps!) Smile

I think I have seen most of his movies but cannot get close to Truly, madly, Deeply which (new) is close to $200. Thought I'd just ask for it for my X-Mas present rather than just order it...

I do agree that he gets sexier with age. Plus, he is the person that got me back into acting after close to 20 years because he started late (in general Hollywood terms) and look were he is...so, apart from my very boring (but lucrative) job, I get to start acting and think of him! Smile

I cannot wait to see if he does a new play...My goal in life is to eventually meet him... Smile

Have any of you met him?

Well, my beginning depends on how you look at it....

I used to watch movies of his, like Robin Hood and Quigley Down Under, when I was a kid.(I'm still basically a kid..)

After his Snape role, I thought that the actor who played Snape portrayed him very well. I was randomly watching Die Hard with my mother and I said "Oh, my gosh, that's the guy who plays Snape!". I began looking up his other films and started to really admire him. I even started getting the Blockbuster online rentals just to see his movies.

I really want to be an actress or a screenplay writer someday, so Alan Rickman is kind of my role model..

And Journalista breathes a sigh of relief, knowing that she's not the only one out there who decided to subscribe to Blockbuster for exactly the same reason!!! Very Happy Wink Cool
