He has great skin. I hope mine is that un-creased at his age. I should be so lucky!

He has aged well... YUMMO! Lucky Rima! Can you imagine waking up every day next to a guy who just keeps getting better looking?? That would be awesome! (Although I have to kindly admit that my husband has gotten better over the years... though not as HOT as Alan!! Twisted Evil )

OK. How did I start. I remember watching Robin Hood as a teenager, that was probably the first of his movies I've seen.
But I think it all really started when Alan came to Berlin for the Berlinale screening of Snow Cake. His picture was all over the media, and I found myself downloading every picture from the red carpet - first I could still pretend it was strictly for information purposes, because I moderate a Harry Potter group on yahoo. We have photo folders for most cast members, only that Alan's folder is twice the size of all other folders taken together... must have something to do with my mod status...
It was one of my friends from the group who knew that I had an obsession before I did. I guess one fan always recognizes another fan.
When I heard that Alan was going to be on "Perfume", which has been one of my favourite books of all times, I was a bit disappointed to hear that he'd been cast as Antoine Richis and not Baldini, because in the book Baldini's a main character and more interesting, but Alan turned Richis into a character I could relate to, which I never could in the book. I think that finally won me over - well, and Snape too, a little Wink

Ok then, I'll put my story in now. I first really noticed Alan was an attractive man when I saw him in the "In Demand" video. I'd seen Die Hard and Robin Hood, but he hadn't even registered on my radar
(can't believe it now!)
My kids really got into Harry Potter and we've watched all the films. Then last summer after reading the final book, and realising Snape was a good guy all along, I started rewatching all the DVDs, to try and spot the clues that gave him away, if there were any. I started realising, "hey, this guy is a phenominal actor! He's also damn hot!"
At about the same time, I got back into art again after several years away from it, and began drawing him....a lot!
Since then, my obsession has grown and I am collecting his back catalogue of DVDs. I have 22 films in total so far, and I've just ordered "The Barchester Chronicles" and " Bob Roberts" from Amazon. I do cut out pictures from the newspaper, and I watch his films a lot. If he came down to this neck of the woods...then yes, I would queue for hours to see him. I have written to him twice, and had one reply. Sorry that's a bit long-winded...I'll shut up now Byeeee! Jackiexx

Oh, sorry, got your hopes up there. It was from his PA saying thanks and she'd pass it on to him, and just letting me know what he was up to for the next couple of months. That was only mid January...he may get around to replying...he probably won't, because he must be inundated. But, I will try again...he may reply if I send him enough letters telling him how wonderful he is!!!! (without actually becoming a stalker, that is!!)

That used to be the case not too long ago but then people started getting a reply from Melanie (his assisitant) saying that Alan was so swamped with work that (paraphrasing) he didn't have time to sign stuff but would as soon as things lightened up for him a bit. Smile

How about a drawing? You're so amazing at it that one of your drawings just has to stand out among a basket of fan mail. But I imagine a drawing would probably be too difficult to part with.

That's not a bad idea, and I have thought of it before.....but I'd be too scared of his opinion, I suppose. I don't know, maybe, I'll think about it....

That's a great idea! He would love your drawings. They are fantastic.
