See, you're assuming that we would be in any better shape that you would be if we were meeting Alan! I'm afraid there would be a group of women standing there with their mouth's hanging open, drooling like idiots, so there would be no one to save you, sorry!
DeAna, I'm so impressed!! Cool I think you are the first/only person on this board to actually have a close encounter of the Alan kind (doesn't that put thoughts in your brain?!) I'm heading over to read about it now!

Yes, well meeting Alan is definatley like being a deer in headlights Shocked. I was standing next to a Johnny Depp fan so it worked out well she kept me some what composed. But Your right Nora, Rickman fans would be terrible together. Although it was really cool meating Alan, it wasn't really impressive Embarassed I sat at the bar until I got up the courage to scream enough to noticed and get near the red carpet. But it was the best day ever. I have a picture with me and him too. I just can't get it small enough to post Crying or Very sad Damn my inablity to work Photobucket Crying or Very sad

I thought it was pretty easy to resize my pix on photobucket. there's a setting you can click for message board posting, which is what I've used before on here. When you see the screen to upload images from your computer, there is a place to click options by the image size...
Also, some of mine I resized after I uploaded them.
But, I'm not a computer guru, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, I just keep clicking things until something works!

I got home from work last night around 9 pm, and my daughter met me with "Mom, I can't get the computer to start!" so I tried and tried to fix it, but nothing would work, so I had to reboot everything! All our music files are gone, my Alan pix (but I have those stored on a CD, too! Very Happy ) and whatever the heck else, I don't even know!

That's not what you want to hear after working 12+ hours!! Mad
Keep trying with your picture DeAna, I can't wait to see it!!

Lucky you, DeAna... about the closest brush with fame I ever had was catching a glimpse of the late, great Jerry Orbach (of Law and Order) when he was filming for the show at a nearby college. Oh, and the occasional local news anchor... I wrote a story on my mother for the local TV station and as a result she won an award, so we had a luncheon/awards banquet with the anchors... Rolling Eyes Whoo...hoo...

I also interviewed Country Joe McDonald (a 60's folk singer... most known for his Fixin' to Die Rag... Well it's one, two, three what are we fighting for, don't tell me 'cause i don't give a damn, next stop is Viet Nam)... it was a phone interview and I was TOTALLY nervous...

So I can't imagine meeting - or INTERVIEWING- Alan!!! Shocked

I lost sense of smell, speach, and vision if it weren't for the picture and his voice ( can still hear his voice Embarassed ) I would not even known I was there. But I'm sure he smelled fantastic! What kind of colonge do you girls think he wears?

I don't know, something subtle, not too perfume-y, but not "Old Spice", either.
I notice he was wearing the same tie that he wore to that last premier, when he had that little gap in his shirt....the one that set us all off on a tangent!
Too bad your pic isn't a little lower so we could look for that gap!!

I would hope he might wear Polo Double Black. A guy I work with came in with it on the other day and it is AWESOME!! I would be unable to control myself if I encountered Alan and he had that scent on!!! Twisted Evil

Of course, Alan might prefer a classic, sophisticated scent like Vetiver. That's one of my favorites. I actually used to wear it myself!

DeAna, you are so lucky! I am very happy for you, and totally jealous of course!
And impressed that you were actually able to form words and speak to him, I think I just would have been standing there, silent as a fish and sweating like crazy... Shocked
