I didn't get any Alan films but I got a new ipod nano, that you can put photos and video on. so far I have part of my Return of the Native on it,a nd I put pics of Alan on it to go with it!!
And, I plan to try and download the In Demand video to keep on it, but I'm not sure how. It's on youtube, and I don't think you can save it...I'll have to work on that.
I'll get more Alan things on it, tho. Then I can carry my Alan with me!!
Happy New Year to all of you!
Will (or did?) you stay up and see in the New Year? I won't, I have to get up at 4:30 to go to work. Not worth it!!
For all you in the states, tomorrow is the Sugar Bowl (football) in New Orleans, my son is marching in the halftime show. (Among many other bands!)
Our uniforms are Red & White, with black hats with feathery things! He's a tall skinny redheaded trumpet player! We don't know if they will televise the halftime show, but I hope so. (I'm not a proud mama!)

AWESOME!!! You should be proud, Nora!
I thought of you the other day, and your redhaired children. We went to Wendy's for lunch and their was a family in there- mom, dad, older boy, twin boys, little boy, two girls- and they all had RED HAIR! Then there was my little black haired boy with round glasses and his skinny blonde brother- it looked like a Harry Potter convention. And for some reason I thought of you. I wished you were there so I was not alone in my amusement.
Then we went to Wal-Mart and a man saw Bobby (my youngest) and yelled, Hey! It's Harry Potter!
That only added to the hilarity of the day (although Bobby was thoroughly annoyed- he gets it all the time!) _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

funny!!
I think it would be fun to be called Harry! Not everyone realizes who the Weasleys are so we are a little safer.
I think you and I might get into trouble if we ran around together, I have that same strange sense of humor!! (and so does my son!)

Haha, that just reminded me of a friend of mine on the bus. He looks like Harry Potter, so this older guy teases him. And he says to him this line from the 1st movie that Hagrid said to him and he sounds just like Hagrid. He always says, "You're a wizard, Harry." Haha, it makes me laugh.
Sorry, I got really off topic. Congratulations, Nora. If they were my kids, I would have been proud of them too. Sadly, I got no Alan films for Christmas. But I did rent one. =D _________________ "I'm a lot less serious than people think,

That's funny! The guy who said that to my son was like 35 or 40, but when he saw Bobby he was just like a jubilant little boy! I think it made his day to see a Harry Potter looking kid. His wife, on the other hand, looked like she wanted to hide! _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

I think we'd get into trouble too! But that's just part of the fun!
Your kids sound so cool. I hope my boys and I are still as close as you and your kids are when they're teens. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

I don't know about being close to my daughter...half the time she's yelling at us and rolling her eyes because we're such idiots, we don't know anything and we're so not cool! But, 14 year old girls are insane, I hear that from everyone else, and they mostly return to normal later! (if I let her live that long! )
(and my apologies to all the teenage girls on this board, but I'm sure you know how you feel about your moms most of the time!! And, I did the same thing to mine--when my dad wasn't around! )
But other times, she curls up on the couch with me with her head in my lap...
my son's not too bad...a few temper tantrums, but they're over quickly and he apologizes...Cailee is never wrong so she doesn't need to apologize!! It's not for the fainthearted!!

Well, I'm 14, but my mother and I get on just fine..but I'm not a "normal" teen, so that could be the reason. haha All of you sound like you have good personalities and great senses of humor. Surprising to find in grown women.
And Michelle, let us know about your Snape sites. I'm sure a few of us would love to check them out.

I'm glad you're "not normal" then!! And, I'm so glad you get along with your mother, I'm sure she appreciates it, too! My son's best friend is a girl, and she has called him crying because she's been fighting with her mom. He says they are WAY worse than Cailee and I. I didn't think other people got into fights like that! I just put it down to two red-headed stubborn women, with wacky hormones (14 yr old and 46 yr old hormone fluctuations!!) living in the same house!!! But, like I said, my daughter isn't all bad, she can be so sweet at times, I think she is just emotional and has to learn to control it. She's also very funny, and fun to be around, I'm very proud of her! (poor baby had to leave her basketball game last night because she started throwing up! turns out 3 cheerleaders were sick!)

It must be a natural stage that most teen girls go though at that age. I'm sure your daughter's not all bad, Nora. None of us 14 year olds are. Hope she gets to feeling better. _________________ "I'm a lot less serious than people think,

Hey Nora
Speaking from someone older than fourteen and not yet a mom ...it gets better. I use to fight with my mom all the time bad ones. When I was younger, we were like oil and water. Now, I'm 27 and even though we don't always see eye to eye we have a mutual love and respect for one another. Me for the way she raised me as a single mom sacrificing, trying her best to keep my a** in line and her for the fact that I have my own views and if our views aren't the same she knows now to allow me the freedom to speak my mind. I think it happens a lot with moms and daugthers. We usually fight the strongest with the ones who love us cause we know reguardless of what happens or what is said they will continue to do so.
