There are accounts and photos on the net of some people who were there also. In true Diva style our Velouria gave a thoughtful and articulate account of the evening. I am (as I'm sure we all are) so happy for you. I gather that he was dressed all in black (oh, so sexy). Shocked

The only picture I found was one of everyone bowing at the end and of a woman who met Alan. Dang it!

there's one on SWARF of one of the girls who went and, there must have been something afterward that she went to, cause she said she knocked over Alan's drink (don't know how true...I would have died!) and there are two pix, one of him signing her HBP book, and one of them posing. (she even said they were waiting, and Rima told them "don't worry, he's coming out soon" or something, and now she loves Rima--the SWARF girls usually are NOT Rima fans!)
LUCKY! Shocked

@Velouria: thanks so much for sharing. Your description was so vivid that I could picture it in my mind, it was the second best thing to actually being there with you. So happy for you that you got a chance to be there. Very Happy

I might have to review my opinion about the swarf board.

OMG this obsession turns into a full time job. Can I really follow two boards?
Well I will try to read some there.

I like the favourite Alan lines topic.

I need to check out other people's thoughts from the evening. How strange it is to know that I was in the same room as other equally Alan-loving people! I just wish that I'd had the balls to take a proper picture. Nuts.

----

Today, I am super-tired. I woke up at 10, vacuumed, washed and dried the carpet in our living room. Quickly had some breakfast/lunch, showered and ran off to work. I got back from work at 6:35, shovelled down some dinner and went straight back out to the cinema to watch Wanted. It was awesome. Then I came home again at 9:30 and put some laundry on, cleaned/tidied out the hall cupboard, vacuumed our room and the bathroom, tidied our room, made the bed... now I'm doing the second load of laundry. I'm so freaking tired, but I know I have to do another 3/4 loads of laundry tomorrow as well as going to work for five hours. I'm sure most mothers do more than this in a day, but I'm finding it exhausting as a 21 year old. Jeez. I bow down to you all.

She also had seen Closet Land and thinks he is unbelievably hot in that film.

I'm sure I have missed things out in this little description of events so feel free to ask questions. But yes, it was awesome.

To the first quote---I THINK HE IS UNBELIEVABLY SEXY in CLOSET LAND TOO! Just thinking about it makes sweat a little! hhaha

And as far as seeing Alan Rickman goes:
I am envious of you beyond reason, but also sooo happy for you!!!!! I know he was brilliant, and I'm glad one of the divas is here to tell US all about it! haha

He is hugely sexy in that, tis true. I think it's because he doesn't try to be sexy....... that he is. I love the shot when he reaches over the table to pass her the thermos of broth, and his white shirt stretches across his back....showing muscle, and a hint of his ribs. Not overtly sexy, but it's the hint of what's underneath.........Oh, my.......cold shower time....

Some news about SWARF. I came back from a day off (Canada Day) and found that I had been deleted from SWARF. I checked over at Page 394 and was informed that because the admins. from Page 394 had a personal tiff with the admin. from SWARF everyone who has posted anything at Page 394 has been banned and deleted from using SWARF and TARLF. None of us (and there are ALOT) know anything about the disagreement. I believe it may have something to do with the fact that Page 394 was created by former SWARF users. Anyhow, I can no longer access it and would not want to. This is just my personal feeling and I do not hold any hard feelings against any one who does access it. The actions taken were extremely juvenile and unprofessional in my view. They lost some very long term and well known AR fans including Snokat, Brandi1498, Ishakpasha and others. I posted my opinions at Page 394 and so will not repeat them here. I may not agree with all threads and comments on all AR sites but as a fan I have a right to choose where to join and when to contribute. I did not appreciate being thrown out for simply visiting another site. Just thought I'd let you know in case any of you heard some strange rumours going around about AR fans.

wow, Semp, that's pretty wild!
I don't post at SWARF, I just snoop and read, I don't care if they kick me out. And I've only been to Page 394 once, and that was to look for pics of Alan over the weekend. So, I don't know who or what is involved in their feud. Sounds a little childish to me.
As I've said before, SWARF is a little wild for me, and I don't feel comfortable posting there, but I do read some of their stuff, like who's seen him, and some of their picture comments, etc. But, I wouldn't want to post anything and be involved with it, and have Alan somehow end up on that site looking around! Embarassed
I guess that all sounds a little wishy-washy, huh?
