I saw The Dark Knight at 12:01 last night.
Heath Ledger truly made the movie. I sat there in anticipation for the next time he would come on screen. He really did scare me in this role though.
He could switch from making the whole theater crack up laughing to havin us cringing in fear. Fantastic performance.
Dead or not dead, he should be getting an Oscar for his performance. Must see this movie.

Triple posting!!! This forum would be HUGE!!!
I've had problems actually....with the system taking forever to post....then doing nothing...so I've tried again, and get the message " You cannot post again so soon after the previous one"....it's a bit annoying!! _________________ Alan Rickman...*sigh*... enough said.

Yes, and I agree with you all the way, Meredith! We just saw it tonight, and while I'm not the biggest Batman fan in the world, I thought it was a good movie, and Heath Ledger was incredible. He did make the move, and I cannot imagine him NOT being nominated for an Oscar for this role, even if he had not so sadly died. Were people crying at one certain point in your theater? I did (but I tend to, but I could hear several people cry at the sad point all through our theater...)
He truly acted like a madman in this role, amazing.
(and I've thought our website has been acting up today and last night, too) _________________ ~~~Nora~~~

I'm gonna try and see The Dark Knight next week, I really like the trailer.
And the site have been acting up with me too latey, it has just been soooo slow! But it is better today, much faster. Oh, and yesterday, I got a strange error message for a couple of times when I tried to log on. |

I will have to wait for the 21st August to watch The Dark Knight. And I am not sure I will be getting tickets for the first night.
I am anticipaiting Gary Oldman as a normal man with a big ugly mustache, nothing weird or twisted or crazy about him this time, only a good man. That problably is a first.
I am a bit nervous about Heath Ledger. I found Jack Nickolson's Joker crazy and scary enough. Heath Ledger's performance is hailed as being much more intense and scary. I know it has a 16 rating but I wonder whether I really should take my 17-years-old niece...
I am looking forward to a major cinema event for this year though. _________________ Alan Rickman('s) Acting touches nerves you have absolutely no control over. |

That happened to me too Marie, good to know it's the site and not something going on with my computer. It HAS been really slow lately. Bogged down with our millions of messages, maybe, LOL!! _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

Gary Oldman did look like an old guy, I'd love to smash those glasses and yank off that ugly mustache...ick!
A 17 year old will be fine (unless they're very sensitive) my daughter is 15, she saw it last night, and liked it. it didn't bother her. there was a little kid in the seat next to me, maybe 5-7 years old, that I thought was too young to be there, and sure enough, he got upset during some of the parts. Why would they bring someone that young?
Heath Ledger was a totally different Joker than Jack Nicholson, way more psychotic. _________________ ~~~Nora~~~

Yeah, good question... I took my sons to see Space Chimps today and there were tons of people there with kids younger than mine (7 & 9) going to see Dark Knight. While Space Chimps wasn't exactly my cup of oolong, that's life when you have little ones.
It was funny in a way, there was a huge line of people waiting for Dark Knight, and my sons were afraid that everyone was waiting for Space Chimps, LOL!! They thought we might not get a seat!! _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

Not that it would belong into the Heath Ledger topic, but does anyone of you know what kind of curling device to use to create big waves like in Sirius's hair?
The mustache is off again. And I agree the groomed Sirius is one of the most attractive parts Gary Oldman played.
And by now even many critics think that Heath Ledger should at least be nominated for an Oscar. He would be the second post-mortem winner. _________________ Alan Rickman('s) Acting touches nerves you have absolutely no control over. |

I bet they use large hot rollers for those "sirius" waves in Gary Oldman's hair... (yeah, that was dorky...)
As to the post-mortem Oscar... who was the first to win one? I want to say Henry Fonda for "On Golden Pond" but I'm not sure. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

well, that took a little googling, but I found it. It was Peter Finch in 1977 for Network. the only one for a lead actor. Will Heath be considered a lead actor or supporting?
others, like screenwriters have gotten posthumous Oscars, tho.
Once again, Goggle comes through. What would we do without it??
I just thought of something, and this is terrible, and I shouldn't even say it...but I will cause sometimes I just can't keep my mouth shut!
What if this is THE year Alan gets nominated??? NO ONE is going to stand a chance against Heath Ledger. Partly because he died, but also, because that role is incredible, so the combo is unbeatable. I would hate for Alan to be up against that, even tho any performance he gives is wonderful. Everyone is going to be over shadowed. Sorry, just a thought, and probably an unworthy one, but there it is. _________________ ~~~Nora~~~
