Last I heard, Naomi's camp denied the rumors... I guess in a certain sense, I could see her as Draco's mother.. but in the books, Narcissa has facial features that, yes, can't be 100% recreated... I more think that a very blonde Nicole Kidman would be perfect... her beauty is a complete oppisite to Helena Whateverhernameis' Bellatrix.

I agree with you about Nicole Kidman. She has very pointed features, which is exactly how both she and Draco are described in the book.

But, Nicole Kidman is Australian, not British, is that a technicality??? even tho, isn't Australia still under British rule (or not?? obviously I'm not too up on my politics, so hopefully I don't offend anyone!!) To me, Nicole Kidman is the most beautiful woman in the world, I just love her. And I know, there are women with more perfect faces, fuller figures, etc, but there is something about her... I love the way she looks on the red carpet, no one can carry an outfit like her, and her height! To me, she is perfection.. (although, I do prefer her with red hair instead of blonde, just because she is so pale, but of course, Narcissa couldn't be a redhead!!)
If they ever make a movie of my life, I want Nicole to play me!! Laughing
(like wouldn't that be the most boring movie in the world??? she gets up, goes to work, comes home, does laundry, drives her kids around, cooks,
wears boring clothes! eats too much!! think I'll start on the script--Alan can play my husband!!)

And, when I first "saw" Gilderoy Lockhart in the book, I immediately thought Hugh Grant needs to play this part, it is so him!! So, I was disappointed a little.

She is Australian and no Australia isn't under British rule. It's part of the commonwealth, but it's a sovereign state. So, who knows? Naomi Watts is more or less Australian too (born in England, raised in Australia) and since there were rumors about her being cast, then I guess they're not too strict about it.

Naomi is also Aussie and I think Australia is under British rule... I'll ask my Aussie friend tonight when I talk to him

I know what you mean about Nicole though. To me, it isn't her 'physical beauty' that makes her beautiful, it's the way that she carries herself. She doesn't act snobbish. She seems like someone that you could sit and have a beer with and have a good time. There are very few celebs that are like that.

It really will be interesting to see who gets cast for the role. I don't know what I expected for Lockhart but I do think that Kenneth Branagh played him very well... very believeable LOL

I get that feeling about her too. But I think she could play the snob very well, a lot like Jason Isaacs (who acts like a goofball in interviews).

Yeah, that perfect contrast of light and dark is what made me think of Tilda Swinton:

Not to mention that from her role in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe she's shown how capable she is of playing a role like Narcissa Malfoy...

Just my opinion, though!

That's an understatement LOL I'm an avid fan of the (now off air) show The West Wing and Jason did 4 episodes.... some of the actors on the show did 'behind the scene' interviews abut Jason because he was such a big name to get on a TV show like that one... they all said that JI would be so dead serious for a few minutes during the filming and then would just bust out doing something crazy LOL

I think Jason is a lot like Alan though (we'll forgo the point that both men have worn a dress, hose and heels in movies Razz)... they both make the 'bad guy' look way to damn sexy Laughing

I love The West Wing. I don't think anyone can really know the depth of the love. Especially for Toby...and Sam...and CJ...and Will...and Leo...and Josh. OK, for like everyone. Where is this clip you speak of? Is it on the season 6 DVD? Or was it season 5? I don't remember now...

It was something that went around a forum I once belonged to that went off line the day the show ended here in the States... and I know that depth of love LOL I was 13 y/o when the show started and in the 7 years on air, I never missed one single episode (and to tie Alan and West Wing together... in Love Actually, when Juilet (Keira Knightly) goes over to Mark's flat to look for the video tape that he took at her wedding, Mark makes teh comment that most all the tapes have episodes of West Wing on them Haha"

I'll have a poke around YouTube and see if maybe someone has it uploaded there... Though let's see which of us is battier... can you bring yourself to watch the episode where Leo died? *Sigh* I can't LOL

I've seen it, I saw it when it first aired. I still have a hard time watching the opening credits from the first few seasons. Oh, Leo. Him and his ridiculous double-breasted tailored suits.
