Bambino update:

My nephew is coming home tomorrow!! He will still be on a monitor and will need O2 (which is making my brother a nervous wreck!!) But the doctors say he is healthy enough and strong enough to come home.

I am nervous too, but he is doing well... I can't wait to actually hold him!! Visitation was restricted to only parents and 4 designees (which of course were the grandparents) so I have not been able to see him personally yet!! So instead I went to Kids 'R Us and spent WAYYY too much money on baby goodies!!

Did I mention I'm VERRRYYYYYY excited??

Aw, I love babies! I'm definitely not ready for any of my own yet, however. But it is heart warming when you hold a baby - they are so innocent and sweet.

Yes, and that never goes away. The best friend of my sister has a two-years-old, he has so most incredible blue eyes and I have to control myself in order of not cuddlingt the poor boy all the time.

I am nuts, I know, I hope I will never steal a baby from it's pram. Well, I would never do that to a parent, I hope I can be sure of that.

I also have a very weak spot for the pre-teens (my nieces are satisfying my craving for teenagers). I found two adorable boys, we talk when I am walking the dog. One of them is going to be eleven in August and the other is nine. Brothers, lovely creatures. They are always kicking a ball in the playground when I am walking the dog. It is not that I am forcing my attention on them. They like to talk and pet the dog. It's always them who make the first move. I wish I could borrow them every now and then. But then one has to be careful and not lead them into being too trusting.

Wow, that was the full moon and empty arms, or what. Sorry, just skip it.

Wow, two weeks away, and new avatars, new banners and new threads everywhere!
As you can guess, my happy announcement for today is that I'm back from my vacation.
Unfortunately I can't give you any pictures yet. My camera went the way of all metal on the weekend (why does that always happen during vacations?), so I have to wait for my boyfriend to read my card with his camera.
We had a safe trip and a great time in Switzerland (you can't just go skiing there, it's a beautiful place for a summer vacation, too). The Swiss national holiday is on August 1st, it was celebrated everywhere with big parties and fireworks all night long.
The German so-called "national holiday" is usually limited to a day off and boring speeches and documentaries on TV, so it was very different to see what our neighbours do on their national holiday.
The weather was great all the time, except for the day we left, yesterday, it was pouring with rain. That didn't help the blues, of course, but when we got home, the sun was shining.
Anyway, glad to be back, have to catch up on everything that has been going on here!

Thanks for the welcome back! I missed you too!
I miss Switzerland a bit now, the mountains and the lake (even the language barrier, LOL), but it feels good to be home again. You divas have been so busy! And to see the new Harry Potter trailer out was a surprise too (though Alan isn't in it).

Well I guess a happy announcement would be that I'm celebrating my birthday tomorrow! lol Smile Anyone have any suggestions for 20th birthday? I want to go with my friends to Taverna Opas (a greek restaurant where you dance on the tables, break plates and throw napkins in the air.) but it's a tad pricy..so incase my friends can't afford it..what else is there to do besides the usual "cake and ice cream" deals? lol

Oh, I'd SOOOO want to do the Taverna Opas thing! That sounds beyond fabulous!! I've been a little manic the past few days (blame it on the moon, I'm not sure why) so that sounds like a great outlet! I wonder if there's a place like that around here... Maybe Symeon's! I'll have to look into it. Some plate throwing might do me good!

Hmm, though, a less expensive alternative - you could always go to an all-night grocery store and have cart races down the empty aisles!! (They still have my picture posted in a local Wegman's grocery store to this day)... Or what about paintball? I hear that's fun (never have done it, though)... I think it would just be neat to do something as far from the ordinary as possible!

And by the way...

Hope you have a lovely birthday Mrs Turpin -it is a wonderful thing no longer being a teenager, trust me.

The Greek restaurant sounds fabulous, I really hope you get to go there, it sounds like so much fun! I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions, I prtsonally don't enjoy birthdays, I despise being the centre of attention and I hate being the only one who gets presents! I much prefer giving other people presents, I get a bit of a guilt complex. Probably a leftover from childhood, hopefully I get over it because those closest to me get a bit annoyed that I don't like my own birthdays! Laughing

I don't know...I'm old, so what is good for a 20 year old's birthday???
hmmm, I like the idea of the Greek restaurant, and you know what they have there....Baklava!!! yummy!
paintball sounds fun, or lazer tag...
I'd like to go to a baseball game (I have a birthday coming up...but I have those Neil Diamond tix, so that's my present) major league games are expensive. and if you don't like baseball...that's no fun.
and, unlike Skittle, I like presents!! and cake! no pictures, tho Mad
