Yes, it's set in Northern England and it's about a young boy from a mining family and finds great enjoyment in Ballet. It's amazing; it's very touching and has some great British humour - I would definitely recommend it, even if Alan isn't in it. It does have Julie Walters (Molly Weasley in HP) who is absolutely fantastic in it. _________________ :.*My Flavour Of Choice? Alan. Of The Rickman Variety*.: |

Me neither - the cover of the DVD I got says "Language: German/English", but there is only the dubbed version. Very strange. Don't know why anyone would produce a DVD with only the dubbing, I thought the whole point of the DVD was that you can listen to the original... _________________

Magenta, you must get the original version, no one but i mean no one should dubbed Alan s voice. |
Hello Patricia,
they are actually doing quite a nice job with choosing the actors who dub Alan's parts. And imagine all the poor people who do not know enough English to follow a film and speech? They would miss out completeley.
I have plans of getting the English version nevertheless.

I have the English version of Dark Harbor..
Because the dvd is not for sale here in Holland, I bought the dvd on the internet, which came from the USA..
I'm very happy with it, like the movie a lot..
It has a whole dark feeling to it, and with the music it feels like you're watching an 'old' movie..
I think the acting is wonderful, I really like the fact that there are only three major players in it..
Those characters really take you in..
The movie is a little strange, I must admit, but when you watch it a couple of times you start to appreciate it more..
At least, that's what happened with me..

Oh but Magenta the Portuguese voice for Snape.........ai, no comments.
I think dvds should have both original and dubbed versions, and always subtitles, i got so many dvds from Amazon who dont have subtitles, not even for the earing empaired i believe. Thats unfair i think, one should be able to have all options when buying a dvd. Sometimes i have to put it really loud to understand, lol.
I loved Billy Elliot but my dvd was no Alan in it, whats the cover with the extras looks like? _________________ "Fools who wear their hearts proudly on their sleeves, who cannot control their emotions, who wallow in sad memories and allow themselves to be provoked so easily-weak people,in other words-they stand no chance against his powers!" |

I just ordered this DVD from Amazon, it will be imported from Canada... which means I will get it in a fortnight - probably on my birthday! I will let you know what I think, but I am quite excited. If it gets here and it works then it was worth it, even if it isn't the best film. I mean, it was only £3.25! _________________ :.*My Flavour Of Choice? Alan. Of The Rickman Variety*.: |

I've just watched Dark Harbor after WEEKS of waiting for it to arrive.....well I've watched it 3 times actually.
Each time , you realise how much of a set-up the whole weekend is.
In the first scene, in the car...David is desperate for his wife to "watch the road!!". I think this is because he KNOWS the young man is going to be there and he doesn't want her to miss seeing him, otherwise the whole weekend is ruined... from then on the clues are everywhere Fantastic film though...David Weinberg is big jerk though...fantastic acting!!....as I'm sure we all agree, Alan is NO jerk! _________________ Alan Rickman...*sigh*... enough said.
