This is one of the scenes I saw. The dialog about that being married to Alexis was like being in a coffin nearly had me in tears. It was sad and I know what it's like to be with someone and feel trapped, as if your life is over and there's no way out. I think that's why I didn't down David when I watched the bits and pieces I did. Granted, I haven't seen the full movie so I may not be getting the full picture with the character.

BTW the cover of the German DVD says Alan was in "Billy Elliot". I saw Billy Elliot but I do not remember Alan in it. I cannot imagine to have overseen Alan. Does anybody know or is able to check?

I have Billy Elliot and Alan certainly isn't in it... I checked IMDb too just to make sure and Alan isn't in the listing for any of the credits. Confused

Hey, I was looking over this post it's a little dated but I have your answer. Supposably, Alan is in the special features part of Billy Elliot the Movie. It's just a quick clip of him walking down the red carpet of the Movie Permiere of Billy Elliot. So he' s techically in the movie but just in the special features or extras very quick clip. Not acutually in the movie it's self. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much.

It is a weird way of giving credit and advertise his work. There are so many films he should be credited for, why would one choose a cameo appearance???

I guess because Alan has a huge fan base he sells. So I guess they think by putting his name on it more will buy.

But as Alan is in 4 out of 5 minutes in this film anyway, Alan fans are buying this film. Why not write Alan Rickman known from Harry Potter or Love Actually? Why Alan Rickman from Billy Elliot? All right, Dark Harbor is not the right material for the average Harry Potter fan, but every teenager has a mum or a dad who will remember how much their children reacted to his performance as Snape...
Dark Harbour was filmed in 1998 but my DVD is from 2005

I know it is silly to get so worked up about something that is only about 10 points big in printing... I am probably realizing how much Alan depends on others doing their jobs well.

I watched "Dark Harbor" with my mum for our traditional DVD night. It did have its lengthy passages, for my taste it took too long until the movie picked up speed and the situation escalated, but the ending was worth the wait. It did seem like a setup, I felt reminded of "A Perfect Murder", but I surely didn't expect THAT. Shocked

The funniest situation was when my dad walked in, looked at the TV briefly and asked: "Is that the father of the actor from 'The Barchester Chronicles?' I laughed so hard I almost fell off the couch.

I still have not got the English version. It is awful. Well, I cannot have everything. I think I will spend some money at the cinema in the coming weeks.

Can't tell ya cause
I dont own the video because I saw a show that said he was only in some small part walking the red carpet in the dvd extras. Maybe he created it or directed or produced or something crazy like that I never heard that he did but maybe he had some part in it's production cause he's not in the movie....We have to figure this out Question
