Couldn't you just quietly melt into the arms of Col. Christopher Brandon. Strong and quiet. How Marianne could not have loved him right away I don't know. She was a complete and utter fool and doesn't deserve him.

I would love to go back in time and have a chance with that man.

Brandon,,, Shocked Surprised ohh brandon! He is intellegent, rough, but gental. and i bet a passionate lover. He is on my top 3 of roles alan has played. This makes me think if he can play the part, then why couldnt he bring some of it home. of course Wink i want the real alan first and formost but then bring on some of his ingenius ways of portraying the characters!

jmop!

Hugs!

Oh yes, he sure is the best of men! Marianne was so stupid, when you have a chance with Brandon, you go for it right away!

I love this film<3 I believe it was a big mistake to cast Rickman for this part though, cause he does it so well and is so lovable and it really makes Marianne seem like a tremendously stupid girl for preferring Willoughby over the colonel. RickmanBrandon is so cute, intelligent and gentle (and sexy god damn it!) and you just ought to love him. Silly girl.

Seriously though, Sense and Sensibility was the first Rickman movie I saw where he wasn't playing someone evil, it was a bit of a chock but also the character that really made me love AR.

OH YAH! Forget Mari.. what's her name Brandon.

But there is the perfect brooding, sensitive, seductive man. If you look under "what got you started" Thread.

This is for me the best Rickman character. My fantasy Snape is only an iota behind.

I love Alan's Christopher Brandon. I agree, Marianne was stupid to take that long and to hurt him so much. But if she had not we would not have seen so much good acting.

Who else would think of expressing his agony by touching the wall behind which she is fighting for her life. I still do not understand why Brandon fell for a drama queen like the silly Marianne when the intelligent sister would have been so much better for him.

The problem is that Brandon is the result of a woman's imagination. I have never met a man like Brandon.

I just watched this movie again for the forth time last week. I love Brandon.
I thought at first he would end up with Elinor. (of course never reading the book itself.) Plus I think he would have been right for her anyways. She seemed to be more on his level.

Alan was so breathtaking in this role. Marianne was stupid. Willoughby (though the guy playing him was sort of hot) he seemed like a pompous man who was very into himself. He sort of seemed like a jackass to me. Some guy who would play you. Col. Brandon was so mature, romantic, sensual, and just a sweet , caring and intelligent man. I would have fell for that man the instant he stepped through the door.

Stupid Marrianne...but then again I can relate to her, always letting the sweet guys slip away and ending up with the idiots. haha.
Though she did end up with Brandon in the end, but she was still drooling over Willoughby. C'mon girl, wake up. That willoughby was a low down gold-digger, who sure perhaps had true feelings for her, but still went for the money. Col. Brandon would never break someone's heart and would be with a woman no matter her class. If that man couldn't get you over any man in the past, then there's something wrong with that woman's head...or all the cocaine they used to medicate people back then Razz .

I'm sure Alan would be great for a bit of Roleplay in the bedroom. I mean, he has such a great back catalogue to choose from, depending on how the mood is striking you. Romantic night in with Brandon; S&M with Snape; or a bit of playfulness with Jamie. You decide...
