hhhmmm.... that was just too easy, wasn't it??
there are a couple of questions here that I'm gonna have to think about, like this one, and the 3 questions to ask him...
esp. since the obvious answer to this one has been ruled out!!

I'd give him a piece of my artwork; not sure which one. I'd throw in some of my home made Maple Pecan squares as well. They're my specialty. Baked goods are kind of a Christmas-y thing to give I suppose. What man doesn't like to get sweets? Ok, must go now...can't keep mind...away from...obvious rudeness...any longer... _________________

I would wrap myself in a big Love Actually-like red ribbon, i think.
Seriously: I would like to give him something from my area: stroopwafels. (waffels with caramel).

Maybe I'd make him some of my famous Christmas mice... they involve making a mouse out of a marascino cherry and a Hershey's kiss... little almond slices for the ears. They're very cute and everyone always wants them. So I think that would be it. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

I just found a wonderful Naughty Knot at a fun swedish site http://www.coolstuff.se
With that you can wrap the best present in the world - yourself! Yes, that would be my Alan-gift!
And I´m gonna be making christmas-candy, so I guess I can give him a big bag of sweets. |

Some of you are pretty sure Alan would enjoy white wine so I would try to find a bottle of
Gravner's Breg
for him.
Considering the fact that I only know him from what he is showing me in his work I problably would think of something that would make him spend time with me so that I could find out whether he is the wonderful person I imagine him to be. But this idea belongs to the "Perfect Day" threat, doesn't it.
I like to make presents that have to do with time well spent. If it should be kind of small it just might be a CD of music or a wonderful book, but if I am allowed to indulge it might develope into organizing an event, ranging from securingg tickets for any kind of performance my "presentee" would like to see or making my sister let her 14-years-old daughter attend a pop-concert of a quenstionable band and play the chaperone.
Of course that has got nothing to do with Alan - although if he ever needed chaperoning I'd volunteer. _________________ Alan Rickman('s) Acting touches nerves you have absolutely no control over. |

| Maybe an art book of one of my favorite artists, not sure which one. Or a photography book I saw recently of beautiful sunsets. |

I think I would find a great book for him, he seems to be a reader (I've gotten that impression), so a book is always a good present.
And, if it turned out to be something he would want to turn into a script, then we would all come out ahead on that, wouldn't we??
And, I'd give him a scarf, which would make Steph happy! I agree, I like men in scarves, too.
And a wool Aran (fisherman's) sweater and a black pea coat. I LOVE men in fisherman's sweaters and pea coats! (yea, I've seen a pic of him in one, but I'll give him a new one!)
combine that with a nice pair of jeans and WOW!!
so there's my idea!

Thanks for thinking of me, Nora! Would it be one you knit yourself? I can't knit and have very limited crocheting abilities, so I'm afraid if I were to give Alan a scarf, I'd have to buy it. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. No, if I knitted him a scarf it would be all lumpy and holey and the end would look funny cause I never know how to end the things, which is why I quit knitting! He'd be too embarrassed to wear it!, plus it would come unraveled and choke him and we don't want that, do we??
I'd have to buy him a nice one, I'll spurge on cashmere because Stacey and Clinton say cashmere is the best for knitted things like scarves and sweaters, and we only want the best for Alan!!

I just love Clinton! He reminds me of a guy I had a crush on in college but was obviously unattainable...
I think cashmere would be nice. Alpaca is pretty nice too. I have a friend who raises alpacas and their fleece is actually really nice and soft. So maybe I'd have to get Alan an alpaca scarf. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |
