And I love to draw Alan :3

So this is my last piece - finished it about 2o minutes ago.
Any critique is welcome, because I'm decided to practice a lot this year >w< So, feel free to tell me any mistake.

Thank youu Very Happy
I'm working on computer, I used Corel Painter Essentials 2 and my lovely Wacom tablet.
I skteched it first - using a grid for help 8D - and then painted it with, uuuh.. the tinting basic round brush, I think.

ooh, finally the colored version *points to dA*
looks awesome, didn't know you were using a tablet (I've one, too, but didn't have mch time to practice + I get frustrated quickly..meh!).

rly smooth, love the hair and beard. the mouth ended up nicely, too Laughing told yeh! hehe..

though, have to say that the eyes look a little distorted (the left eye's bigger then the right one?) and I think you missed the right ear? :]

Nice job over all!!! I like the painterly quality your've managed to caputre with a non paint medium!

Alans eyes are hard because they are fairly asymetric on their own, and then drawng/painting them tends to distort them even more, also he tends to be photogrpahed in 3/4 so perspective also comes into play.

My art teachers always used to remind me paint what you know as well as what you see so sometimes you have to exaggerate somteing to make it look normal in a drawing. did that make sense?

The eyes are killing me actually, I tried to make the right one bigger and it looked worse D: I think i'll try to make the left smaller >.>
As for the ear, eeer it doesn't appear on the photo I have. Well, I don't see it... I think it's just his hair I messed up *points to the stupid strand on the right*

I can't believe you don't use your tablet D8 I spent my days drawings with it ( even when I should be in classes >.> ) This thing changed my life !!

Yes, it makes sense indeed Razz I'll try to correct that... his eyes are always so hard to draw D:

Anyway, thanks to both of you n_n

I've always loved drawing, but I can hardly come up with something on my own, I guess that's my problem Confused so I'm not really an artist, am I..
but I'll of course go on playing around with the tablet.. perhaps I'll improve someday so that I'll get something good enough to post it 8D

concerning your picture:
just try to change the eyes a little if it's still possible, if not, it's still a very good drawing :] don't worry! oh and for the ear... I do think it is there. it's hard to see on the pic I have, but I'm actually seeing a little shape there that indicates an ear Laughing however, I wish I could draw like you *sigh*

Ah, that's exactly the problem I have !! That's why I keep copying pics and photos ¬_¬
But I'm decided to improve this year, I bought a sketchbook to practice everywhere... Maybe I'll be able to draw something on my own one day 8D

Well, I retouched a few parts, the eyes, nose, ear and lightened the coat. Better now ?
( and for the ear, I really don't see much more on the pic I have :/ )

Hello.
It's my first time on this forum, and I'm from Spain, may be my English don't be very well ( probably certain in fact....).
First I would like congratulate to Arcane, your draw is spectacular! hopefully I'll draw like you.
Well I would like to show my draws of Alan Rickman, well specify Severus Snape.
I hope you like it.

Oh that's a great painting. It is! *nods*

But the shirt looks like it's done with.. well.. a very light purple in some places. It throws me kinda off. =) Could just be my monitor, remember that!

And he looks a bit like he has orange lipstick on. =#

But other than that it's much more than I wish I could do!

And Elizabeth! Your drawing! It looks great! The eyes make him look very Snapey. =P
