Hey Rickman Girls...

I haven't been posting as much as usual for the unfortunate reason that I was in a car accident recently. I did a number on myself and also wiped poor Bailey out pretty badly as well. Luckily my injuries aren't serious. I have a small gash in my neck where the seat belt cut into me and some rather severe bruising along my right side from the shoulder down.

I hit a patch of ice on the way home from work and hit an embankment head-on, and then somehow managed landing the car on its side. I was lucky that I was able to climb out, and equally lucky that the medic that came to my rescue was a friend of mine (and insufferably gorgeous... Wink ) So there is always a silver lining...

I'm doing okay, I just wanted to let you know what was up!!!

The garage said they'll paint flames on Bailey when they finish up his body work!!! Very Happy

journalista,

Sorry to hear about your accident thankfully you are ok! I was in an accident a few months ago hit a cement divider on Route 9 (NJ) not serious injuries though the volvo took the brunt. Accidents are so scary cause there is nothing you can do. I'm glad that your not seriously hurt...

Oh my gosh that's awful! It's so great that you weren't seriously injured. Hopefully you will have a speedy recovery. And being taken care of by a hot medic.... Very Happy That's always a plus. Hope you fell better!

Thanks, ladies... While I am indulging in a little self-pity, I really feel sorry for my poor Bailey! He's such a sweet little PT Cruiser, and he's already been in the body shop once... My husband hit the neighbor's (very mean) dog by accident... the dog was fine but Bailey had $1000 worth of front-bumper damage. Then this accident really knocked him for a loop- totally obliterated his front end, some (surprisingly minor) side damage, and a bit of rear-bumper damage, not to mention transmission and radiator damage. The collision guy has been awesome though. As I said before, he's going to give Bailey some "bling"... hopefully that will end our rough patch!

And oh, yeah, Meredith... that medic is too sexy!!! I have to remember I am a married woman... far be it for me to swoon over other men... Wink Razz

So sorry to hear about your accident, but glad that you are ok. I'm sure bailey will look great with his new paint job.

Steph!
I'm so glad you're OK! I've never been in a serious accident, but I worry about it alot.
With this new job, working nights, then driving for an hour to get home after a 12 hour shift, it's really scary, I've drifted off a few times. The other morning was really bad, I guess I nodded off, on the interstate, going about 75-ish, and when I jerked my head up, I was in the left lane, passing another car, but I was only about 2 feet from their rear fender!
Talk about an adrenaline rush! (probably for them, too!) Needless to say, I stayed wide awake the rest of the way home, with a heartrate of about 250!! Shocked
I've discovered Krispy Kremes and coffee help a little, but I really, really hate it, and just dread every night that I have to work. Crying or Very sad

Aww, thanks to all my Girls for the well-wishes and empathy. And I know how you feel, Nora. I've always worked close to home with travel on fairly flat, well-maintained roads. Now I have to travel about 40 minutes to work on completely crappy roads. I hate it! It makes me an absolute nervous wreck!

I am looking forward to the paint job, though. The collision guy said he can do "girl flames" using shades of purple and magenta, which I think will look awesome on silver! Very Happy I do wish, however, the flames weren't a result of being in a nasty crash! My neck looks so gross. The bruises aren't too pretty, either, although today they're starting to take on every shade of the rainbow... EWWW!!!

Im so sorry to ear about your car crash, i was in one two, just a few days before X-Mas, the car went straight to the junk yard but im was very lucky to survive cas the car lost control and went against the walls of a tunnel several times, untill it finally stoped. If it hadnt been in a tunel i think it would have been much worst. Shocked

Good to hear that no one was seriously injured, and the pics should definitely help.
