That really stinks Lorraine. We've had storms here since Thursday night and I have not been able to get here until now. I feel so disconnected from the Divas when I'm not here for a few days. No one else to talk too about AR. Well, not anyone who cares to listen me gush. _________________

Exactly, you feel as if you're back to the stone age, cut off from civilization... Hope to see you online again soon, Lorraine! _________________

I really need some Diva prayers today, not for myself, but for my family. My sister-in-law had to be taken by ambulance this morning due to a severe pregnancy complication, and needed to have emergency surgery/delivery. My nephew weighed 6 lb. 4 oz., which is a good size for a preemie, but had respiratory complications (breathing too fast) and had to be taken by ambulance himself to the NICU at one of the city hospitals. My sister-in-law was supposed to have the baby C-Section at their sister hospital, but because she was in serious jeopardy, her regular OB/GYN elected to do her surgery at our small local hospital. She's pulled through okay but is very depressed because she is in one hospital and the baby is in another.
So I have been taking care of their 3 year-old all day today, and have tried to be strong for everyone but am now settling in and feeling like a human train wreck! I just need prayers for my sis-in-law and my little nephew, and a few for me so I can stay strong and take care of my family.
Thanks, Divas. I'll keep you posted. _________________ I want to swim in both directions at once. Desire success, court failure. ~ Alan Rickman |

very big hugs and and e-cuppa and biccies for you Steph. It must be a very difficult situation but try not to lose hope. My cousin samantha (now nine or ten) was born extreeeemely early, and was tiny and had very bad problems, and was in hospital for a long time but she survived.
The weight can only be a good sign surely? I can understand your sister's feelings, it must be hard, but at least right now everyone's ok. I have my fingers crossed for you and your family! |

The baby is a good weight, it's true. My second cousin had her first baby after having IVF, many moons ago and she weighed 1lb 14oz when she was born, and she's always been small but she's an adult now with kids of her own, and healthy.
So, chin up Steph, but it is a worry when things don't go smoothly or the way you expected, I'm sure they'll be fine
It just shows what a wonderful sister-in-law you are that you care so much!

Thanks so much for all the love, Divas. Just to fill you in, my nephew is off the ventilator and breathing on his own (YAY!!) He has needed O2 every twenty minutes or so but is catching up. We're hoping for the best and are feeling more positive today. My sister-in-law is doing okay, very worn out and hurting from the LARGE incision, but better. She is coming home tomorrow (I think it's too early and am none to happy about it! ) but the baby will need to stay in the hospital for at the very least another week.
So we're doing better but not yet out of the woods, so pleeeaasse keep us in your thoughts.

They usually release c-sections on the third day...it's not too early.
Those insurance companies want people OUT of the hospital ASAP, and if all they are doing is hanging out and getting pain meds, they don't really need to be there....you have to actively need some sort of nursing care to stay in.
and most people want out ASAP! _________________ ~~~Nora~~~

I had both mine naturally, but with Alex, my second, I was annoyed that I had him in the evening. Because the paediatrician wouldn't do the rounds til the morning, I had to stay in overnight...I was tearing my hair out, wanting to get home! _________________ Alan Rickman...*sigh*... enough said.

I left at 23 hours after I had Cailee (naturally!), but now you have to stay 24, because of the blood tests the baby needs at 24 hours... _________________ ~~~Nora~~~
